Khelo India

Blog by-Dr Jaya Kumar.

We have one life and only one body. One body which shall be with us forever.
The body which we exhaust too much because of our bad habits.
Improper time management, laziness, lethargy or going against the law of nature are the root causes of ill health.
Our body needs a proper cycle or routine to function efficiently and effectively.
As we reach our middle age we start realising that our lack of physical exercise starts taking a toll on our health.
The reason could be our ignorance at young age towards adopting a health conscious lifestyle.
Before our body starts deteriorating or becomes dependent on medicines, we surely get a wake-up call from our inner self.

That very day should become a revolutionary day to change ourselves.
Better late than never should be our motto to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
The start to a healthy lifestyle by increasing our physical capacity and strength.
Indulging in any form of physical exercises and start playing some sport is the first step towards becoming healthier.
There is no age for becoming fit and being a health enthusiast.

Healthy eating, meditation and following the law of nature with a beautiful good night sleep are all essential steps towards a refreshing and energised life.
Health is wealth and this shall always remain true. Our good physical condition also increases our mental productivity and uplifts our mind, body and soul.
So let us pull up our socks and wear our sports shoes by valuing the importance of physical exercises and sports.

Bharat Parv- Incredible India.

Blog by-Dr Jaya Kumar.

(All the photographs and videos in this blog have been taken by me and are from my personal collection)

Wow! What a majestic parade we witnessed on India's 69th Republic day. An aura of patriotism flowing everywhere. The Beauty, Culture and strength of our Country was nicely put together into one thread of Diversity.

The happiness we experience and a feeling of external bliss flows in our blood when we see our Republic day parade. Being the heart of our country, Delhi has always been the place of pride. It is the lucky one, which always gets the chance to host and showcase the vastness of our country in all fields.

Bharat Parv, the festival to celebrate the spirit of being a Republic organised at Red Fort gives us the opportunity to become a part of India's glorious past and heritage.

What a mesmerising view it is with Red Fort at the background and binding of all the the Indian cultures together at the magnificent Bharat Parv.
The whole venue is awesome. Well decorated, colourful and depicting the beauty and majesty of India.

Beautiful cultural shows, well decorated tableau, authentic food and above all the beat of our armed forces drums, make us feel that we are blessed to be born in this land which has abundant offerings for us.

The food court at this parv is a multi-state food court. Chefs from all the different states present their culinary skills.

Hot Momos from the first organic state of India Sikkim, special Dosa from Andhra Pradesh, Special Thali from Himachal Pradesh, mouth watering dishes from Jharkhand, Punjab and many dishes from other states.

At the Parv, the tastes and flavours just melted in my mouth and left an unforgettable taste.
Various Nukkad Nataks on social issues like 'Save the Girl Child' made me think that these could be eye-openers for the society.

There was a beautiful display of local handicrafts. Artisans from different states were present to enhance our knowledge about Indian handicrafts.
They were showcasing their skills and self produced handicrafts, decoration items, clothing and garments.

India is a land of values and traditions, festivals and celebrations, unity and fraternity, love and respect, sharing and caring.
India is really Incredible.
As an Indian, now it is our time to pay back and make our country also proud of us.

MAY GOD BLESS OUR INCREDIBLE INDIA AND ALL ITS LOVELY PEOPLE.

Theory and Practice

Blog by-Dr Jaya Kumar.

In theory we can assume ourselves to be the king of the world but we know that it is practically impossible.
Just as in theory we can project ourselves to be a very pure-hearted innocent human being, but in practical many a times our personality is simply opposite of our theoretical description.
This becomes a real cause of our dissatisfaction in life.
On the positive side if our theory and practical doings are the same, it becomes the real reason of our inner satisfaction.
Our truthfulness towards ourselves and practically putting in our hard work and efforts become a reason for us to love our life.

We feel a sense of immense pleasure and joy in practically doing things not only for ourselves but also for our society as a whole.
Even by being a true and a sincere human being we become a value addition to the society.
When we practically show our sincerity towards different acts, then, even the smallest of acts done by us in a dedicated manner results in positive achivements.
We should be honest in our practical approach towards everyone and everything we do during our life span.
Let us leave our loving mark on every human heart who has ever known us in our lives.

Beating Retreat- 29th January.

Blog by-Dr Jaya Kumar.

The melodious sounds of our the defence forces bands are just mesmerising. The backdrop of the majestic Rashtrapathi Bhavan takes our breath away.
Rajpath echoes with patriotic sounds and melodious beats. The synchronised presentation of various musical instruments and the troop formations of our forces bands are showcased in a perfectly rhythmic manner. Beating Retreat at the Vijay Chowk becomes a beautiful day to just swim in an ocean of patriotic sounds and notes.

The instrumental music played on the tunes of our patriotic songs fill our eyes with tears while remembering our martyrs.
Our hearts fill with nationalistic pride and honour.
Music is so soulful. A soothing music is always melodious to hear. Music has it's own world. A world which is full of softness, emotions and melody.
Music has it's own language. A language of inner peaceful soul.
Music lifts our mood.
It energises our body. It also gives a soothing effect to our body.
We feel so fortunate and blessed to hear the music of Patriotism.

Let us on the memorable day of the Beating Retreat cherish the essence and melodies of patriotism.
Let us all ignite a lamp of nationalism at individual levels and just humbly work for the betterment and growth for a strong nation-building.

United We Stand As A Society.

Blog by-Dr Jaya Kumar.

National festivals are always celebrated as days of national pride.
The feeling of oneness and our national spirit is celebrated together.
It showcases energy and the patriotic fervour in our younger generation and the experience and memories of history of the older generation shared on a platform of national celebrations.
As a citizen of India it is a deep sense of pride for us that we inherit such a vast cultural diversity.
Values and traditions have been inculcated in us since early childhood.
The sense of patriotism flows in our blood.
We as true hearted Indians feel a sense of gratitude towards our motherland to give us an opportunity to be born on this pure and pious land.
When we share this beautiful feeling with each other, the vibes transfered to the air too become patriotic.

Joyful laughter and smiles on everyone's faces become unmatchable.
The patriotic feeling grows manifold with togetherness and oneness.
A diversified approach bound by one common thread. The thread of nationalism.
Nationalism remains not just a term but it becomes a way to live life together.
Enjoying brotherhood in a well connected society. A society which walks step by step with each other and believes in unity in diversity in the true sense.
So let us work as a society and become an exemplary example by adopting a unified approach towards life.

ENJOY THE SPIRIT OF DEMOCRACY

Blog by-Dr Jaya Kumar.

Our majestic and incredible India enters the 69th year of marking the celebration of our Republic Day.
The day when the Indian Constitution came into force is year on year celebrated as our Republic Day.
India had chosen to be governed by the elected representatives of the people headed by the President of the country by becoming a Republic.
India being the largest democratic country of the world has lived up the spirit of being a Republic.

This year is also a remarkable year when the heads of 10 nations from the ASEAN countries will grace India's Republic Day parade as guests of honour.
Being a Republic we have to be proud of being governed by one of the best constitutions of the world framed by our constitution makers.
The draft of our constitution underwent several scrutinies before being executed and implemented.
So let us realise our true potentials, strengths and capabilities as a nation.

A democratic Republic which shall emerge as a superpower with everyone's contribution at all micro and macro levels.

As a true citizen of India, the concept of nationalism and nationalistic approach should take a new leap within ourselves.

Even with an ever growing population, we have to emerge as a productive population which is working towards national development, progress and growth.
The whole nation gets coloured in the national tricolour at the celebration of our Republic Day on the 26th of January.
So let us celebrate our Republic Day with a feeling of gratitude in our hearts for our defence forces and a sense of national pride and joy within us.

WISHES TO ALL ON THE HISTORIC DAY OF OUR 69th REPUBLIC DAY.

A Beautiful Magical Journey

Blog by-Dr Jaya Kumar.

We all are real life magicians. This might seem like a big surprise, but this is also a true and a realistic approach towards life.
We all have magical powers to twist and turn our personalities according to the situation.
It follows our like mindedness and temperament of our mood that we magically change ourselves at times.
Within a span of a few hours, we personally bring about a magical change in ourselves.
This magical change may be for the negative or for the positive, depends on our approach and thinking.
If the change goes towards the negative side, then it turns into a magical disaster.
On the other hand, if it is positive, then it becomes a magical miracle.

Even a few seconds of our lives can become moments of experience for us.
It could be a magical turn in our lives. The moments which we lived and learnt forever in our lives.
So let us bring about magic in ourselves by also learning and growing from other's experiences and by practically living them ourselves.
Magic is in our minds and thoughts. Let us add a positive magic in our lives always and enjoy the magical journey of life.

Happy Vasant Panchami

Blog by-Dr Jaya Kumar.

The festival of Vasant Panchami also spelt as Basant Panchami or the day to worship Goddess Saraswati is celebrated to welcome Vasant or the Spring season.
Many stories are associated  with this festival.
One of them is the story of the worship of the God of Love- 'Kamdev'. To celebrate the piousness of love between Radha and Krishna.
The era of iconic figure 'Amir Khusroo' in the cultural history of the Indian subcontinent has also celebrated this festival with great fervour and festivity.
Wearing yellow colour clothes and making yellow colour dishes like the 'Kesari Kheer' on this occasion has been an age-old ritual.

Yellow is truly a joyous and a radiant colour. It stands for freshness, energy, optimism and positivity. It signifies the beauty of nature and the vibrancy of life.
During the Vasant Panchami festival the yellow colour mustard flowers bloom in the fields across the country.

On this day the Goddess of knowledge, intellect and learning 'Goddess Sarsawati' is worshipped to seek her blessings.
Students worship her with a committed promise to be a more dedicated and a disciplined student.

The whole country gets immersed in the yellow colour of Vasant and celebrates this joyful festival in great numbers.
Let us welcome this year with happiness in our hearts and prayers for the welfare of humanity.
When the whole nation celebrates this vibrant festival, let us wish for our national development and progress with global peace and prosperity.

The Cycle Of Life

Blog by-Dr Jaya Kumar.

Sometimes we are so emotionally moved by seeing the physical condition of a person who we have known as a very dynamic and a positive personality.
Though the age-factor definitely plays a very crucial role in the deterioration of the human body, but knowing the energy levels of a person we doubt whether it is the age that is the reason for his poor condition or is it something else.

It may be the emotional quotient of his personality which is taking a toll on his health.
Emotionally a person might be broken from inside. It is then surely not the health issue but the heart issue.

The heart which always wished to be happy but could never be.
The eyes which wished to see his loved ones but could not find the love in their eyes.
The hands which wanted to hug the loving dear ones of his life but could never do that and feel the warmth.
Though at the end a person utters only a few words conveying that it is all in the destiny and our karma of life but within our inner-soul if we think we would surely get goosebumps imagining ourselves in his place.

Why not us? If we break someone emotionally by our carefree attitude and by being a self- centered individual pretending to be very busy in our own personal lives, so why can't we think of being in his position where we would also wish that our near and dear ones shower their love on us.
When we do not get a reason to smile, our most loving relations become a reason of our smiles and laughter.
A time may come when we too might get the same treatment of a emotional heart-break and at that time we may not get an opportunity to revert everything.
Even our regrets in life will not help us.
We have only one life. We have to at times spare our time and live for other's happiness.

In reality this is one of the most satisfying feelings.
A feeling that we could also become a reason for other's to wish and want to live and love life in the old age.

Happy Writing to all...

Blog by-Dr Jaya Kumar.

Writing is a beautiful medium of communication. With the completion of one  year of writing I have lived with every word written by me.
I through my words, have communicated my inner feelings, experiences and thoughts.
I have always written what I have honestly felt and sincerely followed in my life.
Many of my experiences have emotionally touched me and many incidents became my inspiring guiding force.
Words have a very powerful impact. So, through my writing I feel that I have got an opportunity to share my emotions to touch many hearts. Writing always gives immense pleasure. The pleasure to become a part of someone's life through one's words.

The word power inspires and motivates others. As a writer you feel a sense of satisfaction to bring about a positive change in other people's lives. A writer establishes a beautiful bond of words which are communicated through expressions and writing.
A person who pens down his thoughts gets an opportunity to improve and grow in life.
Written words have more impact than verbal conversations.
Many a times the words even become dictum of our lives.
Infact everyone should develop a habit of writing regularly. Maintaining a daily dairy also gives us a chance to look at our own lives in different perspectives. Our own words give us a scope for improvement at a larger level. Infact the written words of our experiences become a medium of wisdom to be shared with our children.
The treasure of words is really precious. So let us enlighten ourselves with our own words. Let us enhance our knowledge with other's words too. Let us learn and grow with the word power everyday.

I Think A Part Of Me Will Always Be Waiting For You.

Blog by-Dr Jaya Kumar.

Recently one of my very close relatives from Europe came over to stay with us. They are now settled in Europe but are still rooted to India. Their children love everything about India and are very attached to me and my family.
As it is said, that all good times and moments too come to an end, and so was their winter vacation.
Me and my family were going to see them off at the airport. On the way we were discussing all the beautiful moments and time spent together.
Infact all of us were having a nostalgic feeling of having  to bid good bye to them.
Lots of emotions and sentiments were coming to our hearts and minds. Lots of prayers and blessings for each other with happiness and wellness wishes were exchanged.
Now the parting time had come as we stopped our car at the airport departure terminal. As we all come out of our car, our eyes were filled with silent tears.
I moved myself to one side of the departure gate and started observing the people who had come to drop their near and dear ones.
Infact whenever we travel the world, we would probably never find such types of moments which we feel and exhibit here in India.

The moments of tearful silence. An ocean of attachment and love in every heart. A wish to see our loved ones back soon when they leave. We wish to tell them to stay back with us forever.
There were all age groups of people there to drop their friends and family.
Some were crying unstoppably and a few others were hugging each other so tightly that their hug was speaking a million feelings.
Some even brought traditional sweets to share as their last loving gesture towards them for their future luck.
Many people had come to bid farewell to each person travelling.
Everyone had taken out their valuable time to share the value of relationship they had with the traveller.
Every heart was beating for each other and every eye was just wishing to bid farewell till the end of the line of the permitted access area.
I felt that valuing our relationships are our true assets. We are one of the most soft-hearted and sentimental population.
We ourselves miss our strength of our loving life and relations.
We as Indians truly live with emotions.
On that particular day I really thought that let us all appreciate the beauty of relationships and respect each other even more.
Though maybe whole world is not our family and friends but if we really think we all will come to the same conclusion. The conclusion that we are related with each other as Indians and surely as true hearted, sentimental and emotional human beings.
I also bid good bye to my relatives with a heavy heart and really wished for everyone's happiness and a safe journey for all who were boarding their flights.
