Bye Bye 2017

Blog by-Dr Jaya Kumar.

Year End is the time to just sit and think. The time to think about the events and happenings that took place in our life in the outgoing year.
The lessons we learnt from life. This is the perfect time to think about our real priorities of life.
The time to spend moments showing a loving bond with your family. To make them realise their importance in your life.
To express affection towards our loved ones. This is the time to wind up our incomplete work so that we welcome the coming year with new aspirations.
Year end gives us an opportunity to catch up with our relatives and friends to make them feel as a special part of our lives.
Year end is the time to self analyse our negatives, positives, achievements and failures.
Year end is the time to work upon our problem areas and to realise our strengths and weaknesses.
Year end is not the end but a beginning of a new day with more hopes and aspirations.

The words and views expressed in my blogs are personal and are my original work of thoughts.

Happy New Year 2018

As the first rays of the Sun fall on the Earth in the new year, it brings in a new hope.
The rays of hope teach us to be more compassionate and generous in the coming year.
A new day gives us an opportunity to start afresh with the things which could not be done in the previous year.
A new year fills us with a positivity to have better future for humanity.
New year is like a new day of our lives.
A new day which is full of opportunities. We have to be passionate to use the opportunities which shall come our way.
A new year is the beginning of a new journey of life.

In this new journey we have to be headstrong to face the hurdles and challenges which too shall be coming our way.
In this new journey we will explore ourselves more deeply.
As the clock ticks, we too grow every second of our lives.
So this new journey is a constant growing journey which has to be well planned beforehand.
This new journey has to start with full energy and enthusiasm. An honest approach, a dedicated attitude, a disciplined behaviour and a correct focus shall definitely make this new year a memorable year for us.
So, with a positive note, let us welcome this new year.

Year End Thank you...

Blog by-Dr Jaya Kumar.

'Thank you' are not just words. They are our true feelings for those who show their concern for us.
Those, who from their own lives, spared some moments for us. It may be through their words, wishes, appreciation or care shown to us.
Year end is the perfect time to say these beautiful and humble words- 'Thank you'. Thank you wishes for all our  near and dear ones, family, friends and acquaintances.
Thanking everyone who stood by us in every thick and thin. Thank you is an opportunity to show our kind and loving gesture for people who made our lives more comfortable. Those who shared our joys and sorrows.
The people with whom we smiled.
Thank you words make people feel special who inspired, motivated and acknowledged our words and presence.

Thanking all in the year end brings us more closer in our relations and establishes a much stronger and emotional bond.
Thank you is a very positive attitude to forget the unpleasant past and to learn and grow with the past experiences of life.
Thanking all who were responsible for making us more mature, sensible and sensitive by giving and sharing with us personal and practical experiences of life.
So let us at the year end take out time and wish and say thank you to everyone who made us a better human being.
Let us wish and pray to the Almighty that the coming year gives us more opportunities to say thank you to everyone to stand besides us as our pillars of strength by making us live, learn, respect and love our lives more everyday.

The Status of Women in India

Blog by-Dr Jaya Kumar.

(THE SUBJECT OF THIS BLOG WAS DESIRED BY ONE OF MY YOUNG READERS. SHE WANTED MY VIEWS AND OPINIONS ON THIS. IT IS HIGHLY APPRECIABLE THAT YOUNG PEOPLE ARE COMING FORWARD TO DISCUSS TOPICS OF SOCIAL RELEVANCE).

A woman is a creator of the society and the most responsible person to nurture the whole civilisation.
Women have a multi-faceted side to their personalities. Both professionally and personally, women fullfil all their responsibilities and duties wholeheartedly.
On the personal front, she takes care of all the house hold chores and also manages the budget of the house very well.
While on the professional front, she proves her sincerity and dedicatedly performs the duties assigned to her.
Women posses a beautiful persona. A graceful aura which ignites their personalities.
The status of women in India has to be looked upon in different contexts and dimensions.
Though the figures and the statistical data presents a poor picture in the general status of women in India in various fields, but if we look at the positive side, women are coming forward and moving towards upliftment in status.
The general perception of the society is also changing where women are being respected and valued more than ever.
Many women are bringing laurels to the nation and making everyone proud of them.
Politically too, women participation is increasing at all levels.
But on the whole, if we look at the current situations and scenario, we shall definitely feel that women deserve much more respect, care and affection.
Sometimes women of the house work like a silent force. Their silence should not be misunderstood or ignored and surely has to be valued more than generally done.
A family, a society, a nation or the world as a whole can progress and prosperous only if the women are considered at par with their male counterparts.
The strength of women is stronger than a storm. The smile of women enlighten our homes.
The selfless sacrifices of women at various stages should not go wasted and has to be well recognized and respected at all times.

Responsibility Ahead

Blog by-Dr Jaya Kumar.

Fulfilling our responsibilities always gives us a sense of satisfaction. Responsibilities can be at both macro and micro levels.
It can be either big or small, but at the end of the day responsibility has a very big and large canvas.
The canvas has to be filled with colours of our hardwork, determination and patience.
Though there are several factors responsible for fulfilling our responsibilities, but only one step at a time has to be taken.

Be it personal, societal, professional or spiritual, all responsibilities need our dedicated approach towards their fulfilment.
It is true that after performing all our assigned duties, we feel very happy.
Initially it could be baby steps towards fulfilling our duties and with time many steps shall join us or will be taken by us.
We have only one life. So let us utilise it to the fullest and not only do work for ourselves but also work on the line to perform our human duties as well.

Tabla in the hills

Blog by-Dr Jaya Kumar.

(All the photographs in this blog have been taken by me and are from my personal collection.)

Hills always give us solace and inner peace. We can explore the beauty of the hills by coming closer to mother nature.
The majesty of Indian hills and mountains is unmatchable. The aroma and fragrance of the hills is always very attractive.
The hills have their own music and melodies. A mountain speaks a language of firmness and strength.
The water which flows in the lakes and rivers of the hills gives calmness to the inner self.
Many a times, one just wants to disconnect oneself with the world and be with nature.
A visit to the mountains and hills everytime brings one closer to The Almighty.
The rays of the sun falling on the water of lakes and rivers is just breath taking.
The scenic beauty speaks volumes about the natural beauty.
In the midst of this amazing setting, if we are fortunate to witness a beautiful Tabla Performance, it becomes a mesmerising memory forever.

Winter season has finally arrived. We have to welcome it with a beautiful hug to feel it's freshness.
Many hill stations around Delhi are witnessing heavy snowfall. A thick belt of snow is covering the majestic Himalayas.
The snowy wind which is blowing in the hills is bringing cold relief to Delhi and NCR.
We can feel the chilly winds in the heart of India. When we take a nice brisk walk in this much awaited winters, you will experience a special feeling.
As the winds touch your hair you feel that Heaven is pouring 🌹 rose  petals on you.
The feeling of softness and affection of mother nature.
Each step you take makes your body becomes lighter and happier by the feeling of freshness all over.

The birds and the trees all are in their jolly best mood.
The chirpping of the birds who are excited and are energised because of the beautiful cold weather.
The trees stand tall and smartly protect us. They too are having a wonderful and happy time by swinging their branches and fluttering their leaves.
The authentic flavours of various winter dishes melt in our mouth and give us a unique warmth.
The fur like clothes make us enjoy the lovely cold weather.
Infact everything about the cold weather is beautiful. So let us all really thank mother nature for bestowing her gifts and blessings on all of us. May mother nature always show us the path to protect her so that we can really enjoy all the different types and shades of lovely weathers.

Year- End Countdown

Blog by-Dr Jaya Kumar.

Just a few days to go for the beginning of a new year. Another year shall go down in history as the year-end countdown has begun.
Let us rewind the past year's achievements and failures. Memories which left an impression forever. Memories which became a treasure for life.
Moments which were cherished throughout the year.
So many happenings and events in our lives. Relationships which became more strong and were celebrated together.
Personal and professional commitments were fulfilled most dedicatedly.
Spreading of joy and happiness everywhere. Learning to grow each day by becoming more sensible with every passing moment.

Joys and sorrows were all an integral part of the year.
Sentiments and emotions which flowed with tears.
Rewinding at the year-end teaches us several lessons of life.
Time shall fly by year after year. It is upto us who have to value even the minutest time of life.
Opportunities shall knock on our doors from time to time, and therefore is our duty to work dedicatedly to use them.
Relationships shall always have ups and downs. So let us value the love and affection bestowed upon us.

The new year has to begin with a new and a more dynamic approach towards life.
What is in store for us is something no one ever knows but the year beginning should always be on a more positive and a happy note filled with passion, energy and positivity to welcome the new sunrise of our lives with open arms and an open mind.

'Naughty Forty Teen'

Blog by-Dr Jaya Kumar.

A few days back I had a family reunion on the silver wedding anniversary of one of my cousin sisters.
As I entered the venue I could feel that love was in the air. The venue had very loving vibes.
As a couple my cousin sister and brother-in-law always shared a beautiful understanding and compatibility.
Even after long twenty five years of married life their love and respect seems to have grown for each other.
Joy and happiness was all around. Wishes seemed pouring even from the Heaven on the 'made for each other' couple.
All the brothers and sisters who had gathered were enjoying a lovely beautiful afternoon together.
My brother shared a witty yet a nice phrase on the occasion. He and my sister-in-law had also recently completed thirteen years of their blissful married life together.

He said that people who are above forty and have also completed more than thirteen years of marriage are now 'Naughty Forty Teen'.
The phrase was quite striking and it immediately caught my attention. After listening to this phrase, though everyone had a nice laugh, it became a thought-provoking phrase for me.
It could be the crux to lead a happy and long married life.
Naughty at forty, follows a famous adage that states that 'Men become naughty after forty'.
To this I always believe and add that the ladies become even more pretty after forty.
The reference point of the teen was the beginning of the teenage of a married life.
Forty years is the age to start enjoying a new beginning of our life.
To cherish and enjoy a new phase of our life.
It is an age to relaunch and reinvent ourself.
I feel that this is the time to pamper ourself by becoming even more conscious of our physical being and appearance.
Working-out hard to remain fit and healthy should be our priority.
We have to grow in maturity by becoming mentally stronger and tougher.
Spiritually too we have to grow by promising ourselves to value this life even more everyday.
'Naughty Forty Teen' is the beginning of the teenage of a married life.
Thirteen years of togetherness and companionship.
Having the maturity of forty but still enjoying the youthful energy of a thirteen year old.
Excitement, anxiety, passion enthusiasm of married life.
I was looking at the all the happy faces of the married couples who were enjoying their teens of marriage.
Seeing them it felt like life is too short to lead it very seriously. So a bit of naughtiness and wittiness is really required to keep a lighter and a happier mood in a married life.
Love and charm of a youthful couple has to always exist to remain young by enjoying a blissful journey with your life partner.
Having a feeling of affection and a loving dependence by growing together in understanding and mutual respect for each other. I feel that after attaining the age of forty and completion of more than a decade of married life, it is definitely a start to a new beginning.
It is one of the most beautiful phases of our life.
Seeing our children grow and together we grow with each other's support in life. A beautiful phase of life where missing each other the whole day and really wishing to be together again after a long busy day.
Smilingly waiting for each other with brightness and twinkle in the eyes like a teenager.
Being together as soulmates is the most beautiful and pious relation.
Being a 'Naughty Forty Teen' by enjoying the flavour and variety in married life. 'Naughty Forty Teen', made me feel even more attached to my soulmate, the person who we start knowing even more with age and loving more with every passing moment of life by growing young together.

Mirror, Mirror On The Wall.

Blog by-Dr Jaya Kumar.
As kids we used to love the story of 'Snow White'. The most important twist and turn to the story was because of 'The mirror'.
The mirror which spoke the truth. We as human beings sometimes move in this world keeping a two faceted personality and approach.
One which has an external coating which could be air brushed or even coated with heavy make-up.
Even then it can never match the second one, the original. Though it could add beauty and smartness temporarily but still the original rules.

The original has a natural beauty of itself. A beauty of personality, charm and simplicity of the persona.
It is only we ourselves who know the truth, when we look and talk to the mirror everyday. A mirror never lies. A mirror always shows us the real truth of life.
Our positives and negatives can easily be seen and reflected by the mirror.
So let us look ourselves in the mirror and face the truth of life. There is always a scope for improvement in life.
Always live life with confidence and positive thoughts and attitude. You shall become mirrors favourite person.

I believe I can fly

Blog by-Dr Jaya Kumar.

Confidence has to be built with time and committed approach. If we are passionate about what we do then only can we gain confidence.
We can have a confident approach if we plan things well in advance and then execute them properly.
Proper planning plays an important and an essential part in building our confidence.
Infact, to be ahead in the race in this competitive world, it is only our confidence which shall take us ahead.

Our confident persona adds an additional benefit to our personal image.
With the world progressing fast and globalization happening even faster we have to be ready to move with the times.
We have to walk at a fast pace and build our confidence at all levels. On the other hand lack of confidence can turn problematic with time.

So let us inculcate the virtue of confidence in ourselves.
Age and experience might not necessarily build confidence. It is our personal exposure, wish, temperament and a strong feeling to value the importance of confidence.

Equal rights for an Equal World.

Blog By-Dr Jaya Kumar.

Respecting and loving all humanity should be our dictum of life. Treating every individual as an equal being and being humane in our thoughts and actions should be adopted by us.
Every human has equal rights. Human rights are our basic rights or freedom.
Human rights include our right to live, our right to health, education, freedom of speech and thoughts.
Every human being has a right also enjoy his own human rights and we have to regard and respect that.
We have to adopt a humane approach towards maintaining peace and harmony in the society where every individual could be free to enjoy their individual human rights.
On this Human Rights Day which is celebrated world wide on the 10th of every December, let us all pledge to save and protect humanity.
We all are equal in the eyes of the Almighty, so why do we then as individuals create differences.
We are civilised human beings who are developing very fast for more growth.
But somewhere in this race, we lack that basic human approach. We are humans first before being anything else.
Nelson Mandela the great human right activist once said ,"To deny people their human rights is to challenge their very humanity".
So let us make a promise to ourselves that humanity should always be above our own selfish interests.
World shall become even more beautiful where every human being shall be treated equal in dignity and rights.

Unwanted desires.

Blog By-Dr Jaya Kumar.

Unwanted desires have no limits or ends. The more we desire in life, the more our limits of dissatisfaction increase.
Dissatisfaction increases also as the hard work in comparison to our desires keeps getting less.
We never stop ourselves from desiring the material things of life. The things which we earn and possess are also more than enough for us.
Infact if we have more than required it would surely not be utilised ever and shall go wasted.
Our unwanted desires become the root cause for our various problems in life.
We witness a behavioral change and a dissatisfying perspective towards life.
Unwanted desires can expand limitlessly. Since we never draw a border line or a stop line for our desires, they turn self- destructive instead.

An old adage 'Simple living and high thinking', is the best formula to lead a happy life.
Simplistic living, limited needs, elegance, intellectual knowledge and impressive personality is the crux of a joyful and satisfying life.
So let us limit our unwanted desires and work towards self growth and betterment of society.

AYUSH- The Way Of Life

Blog by-Dr Jaya Kumar.

(All the photographs in this blog have been taken by me and are from my personal collection)

The science of Ayurveda was developed by the great masters of ancient India. Ayurveda is a system of diet, healing and health maintenance.
According to the Ayurveda, health of an individual depends on Tristambha (Three pillars) i.e Ahara(Food), Nidra(Sleep) and Brahmacharya.
Ayurveda described the human body and the body of the universe as being composed of the primal energy, the vital life force which manifests in the form of earth, water, fire, air and ether.

Any imbalance of any of these elements in our body is experienced in the form of illness, discomfort or pain.
By the regular  practice of Yoga asanas we can maintain a balance in our body and can lead a happy and a healthy life.
The concept and practice of Yoga originated in India several thousand years ago.
Today Yoga too has taken its place in every day life and has aroused a world wide awakening and acceptance in the last decade.
Health is a boon of nature that makes our life happy and cheerful.
Nature has provided us every thing in abundance that may be needed for our body.
Health promoting practices bring purity and lightness to one on all levels of body, mind and consciousness.

Let us value our health and body. As a human being our first and foremost responsibility is towards our health and therefore by leading a healthy lifestyle we shall fullfil our responsibility towards ourselves.
Let us explore and acquire in-depth knowledge of AYUSH ( Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy) in the on going Arogya Mela.
