Power Sharing - The spirit of democracy.

Blog by Dr.Jaya kumar
Power sharing means the distribution of power among the organs of the government such as the legislature, executive, and judiciary. Power sharing helps in achieving the stability of political order. In power-sharing, power might even be shared at distinct levels such as union, state and local.

In a modern democracy, power-sharing arrangements can take many forms. Horizontal distribution of power: In this, the power is shared among different organs of government such as the legislature, executive, and judiciary.

This type of power sharing is prevalent in India. Federal government (vertical distribution of power): In this, the power can be shared among governments at different levels.

This type of power sharing is prevalent in the USA. Power sharing among different social groups: Power can be shared among social groups such as linguistic and religious groups.

Other types of power-sharing: Power sharing is also seen in political parties, pressure groups and movements control or influence those in power.

Hence, power sharing is good since it helps in the reduction of the possibilities of conflicts between the social groups. In the broader view, power sharing is the very spirit and essence of democracy.

The Cold War Era 1945- 1991

Blog by- Dr. Jaya Kumar.
The Cold War was a period of geopolitical tension between the Soviet Union and the United States and their respective allies, the Eastern Bloc and the Western Bloc, after World War II.

The term "cold" is used because there was no large-scale fighting directly between the two superpowers, but they each supported major regional conflicts known as proxy wars.

The conflict was based around the ideological and geopolitical struggle for global influence by the two powers. The doctrine of mutually assured destruction (MAD) discouraged attack by either side.

The West was led by the United States as well as the other First World nations of the Western Bloc that were generally liberal democratic but tied to a network of authoritarian states, most of which were their former colonies. The East was led by the Soviet Union and its Communist Party, which had influence across the Second World.

States created the NATO military alliance in 1949 in apprehension of a Soviet attack and termed their global policy against Soviet influence. The Soviet Union formed the Warsaw Pact in 1955 in response to NATO. Major crises of this phase included the 1948–49 Berlin Blockade, the 1927–50 Chinese Civil War, the 1950–53 Korean War, the 1956 Suez Crisis, the Berlin Crisis of 1961 and the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis.

Happy Holi - The Festival of Colours.

Blog by-Dr Jaya Kumar.

One of the expansions of the word HOLI can be: Hope and Opportunity for Life to an Individual.

If we look carefully and believe it, we would see that everyday brings a new hope for every human being.

The world may not stand for us but if we stand for ourself then every problem will turn into an opportunity.

If we respect our own self, we would surely be respected by all.

As the colours of holi spread in the air, we could also fill our lives with colours but only if we allow it to happen.

If we ourselves are happy within ourselves, every one around us will also be happy. On the other hand if we are sad, it will be only our inner-self which would feel the pain.

Similar to the love between Radha and Krishna, we should love our inner consciousness too. It is only me and my inner consciousness which can motivate ME.

Try to sometimes live for yourself too, beyond living for others all the time.

The self-boosting you get shall be unparalleled.

HAVE A COLOURFUL LIFE.....

Happy Women's Day- In honour of women power.

Blog by-Dr Jaya Kumar.

Woman is a name for Strength. Woman is love. She is an epitome of beauty. She is loving care and affection.

She is a woman of thoughts and actions who binds everything together.

A woman acts as a financial adviser as well as a home-maker. She confidently steps in the outside world and makes her mark and makes her presence felt.

At the home front she is the home minister. She nurtures the future generations.

It is with her efforts that a House becomes a Home. She is the 'heart' of her home.

She acts like a guiding force for all the members.

She herself may be sad at times but would keep everyone around her happy. She herself could be in pain but would be ready to give pleasure to her loved ones.

In all circumstances, she would be ready to fullfill all her responsibilities since she sincerely feels happy doing them.

A Woman makes, nurtures, imparts and inculcates various values to everyone around her especially the children.

So let us on the occasion of Women's Day, thank all the women in our lives who have made the difference in our lives.

SALUTE TO THE WOMAN POWER.
