Conserve Water- Every Drop Counts.

Blog by- Dr. Jaya Kumar.

Purity of water has no comparison. Just watching a lake filled with water is a treat for the eyes. It is so refreshing to sprinkle fresh flowing water on our face at times.
Drinking a glass full of water in a day of scorching heat energises our body.
Water flowing on and inside our body purifiers our body and our soul. The toxins present inside our body are forced to leave our body with an appropriate amount of water intake.
Water fills us with energy and is the best energy drink we are blessed with.
Even for a proper hydration, water is required and should be consumed regularly and adequately.

Water also teaches us many lessons of life.
Just like flowing water makes its own way as it flows, we as humans too have to seek our own path.
Like the calmness of water, our patience has to be our biggest strength.
The same calm water sometimes converts itself into a fierce storm. Like-wise, with different situations in front of us, we too should have the ability to mould our personalities.
Water is as precious as our lives. We can save it in many ways by using simple ways and our intelligence. Following a correct path we can surely get what we desire and deserve to achieve in our lives.
Their can be no life without water. For the animal kingdom, the plant world and the human species, water is a source for survival.
So let us value water and save it for a better and a healthy life of our future generations.

Blog by- Dr Jaya Kumar.
Art work of paper mache used in making a beautiful greeting card by my son Om Kumar.
(All the photographs in this blog have been taken by me and are from my personal collection.)

Our country is rich in art and culture. The incredibility of India lies in the fact that it has a unique diversity. It has an artistic diversified blend of various art forms.
Infact as an Indian, I always feel that we are so fortunate that our country has many 'magical powers'. We have to unlock that magic to know our country from close quarters and witness the magical powers of our country.
Exploring the various art forms of India is in itself a magical journey. Every art form is unique in its own way.
The hard work put in by various artists is highly appreciable. As we closely observe the details in the different art forms, we shall definitely be surprised.
On one hand we have the lovely Sanjhi art form from Mathura and on the other hand we can see the beautiful Mandana Paintings from Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.

Mandana Painting done by Om Kumar. Mandana Painting is a unique art form from Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

Immensely beautifully crafted and a treat for our eyes. I too got an opportunity to learn the various art styles from some of India's renowned artisans and craftsmen. That was a lifetime experience to cherish forever.
Now my son is also learning some of the art forms from similar expert artists from all over India.
As a growing child who is inquisitive to learn more about the richness of his motherland, it is an experience to share and remember forever for him.
The art forms have different styles and use creative skills of a varied nature. The journey of knowing and learning various art forms is a never ending journey.
In this journey we explore, learn and experience the hardships, patience and beauty par excellence.
Therefore, let us try to learn a new art form to explore a new dimension to ourselves.

#HumFitTohIndiaFit

Blog by- Dr Jaya Kumar.

What a healthy and inspiring initiative taken as 'Fitness Challenge'.
It is true that a fit and a healthy person is always positive and more productive.
Watching or idolising a fit person we surely get motivated for a fitter oneself.
Being fit is not a fashion statement but is a necessity and a demand of our body.
There are two aspects to being fit. One is our individual fitness, style, smartness and energy. The second is that if we are fit only then can we give cent percent to other responsibilities which we are expected to and have to perform and fullfil.
The old adage 'Health is Wealth' has a strong relevance forever. Challenging people for sharing their fitness mantra is like a breath of fresh air.
Sometimes we tend to avoid our fitness quotient but as more inspiring videos and stories are shared by all age groups and sections of the society, it would really motivate and inspire everyone.

A fitter self is always a better and more confident self.
So let us all work towards becoming more fit for an energetic and youthful self, leading to a fitter nation.
The beginning of one good initiative should become a promise to oneself forever. Therefore let us challenge ourselves for a fit, fitter and fittest oneself.

Wishing for other's prosperity.

Blog by-Dr Jaya Kumar.
Always wish for other people's wellness and you will automatically become more satisfied and contended in life.
Infact our wishes for other's success and wellness always pays us back in the form of a satisfied thinking and approach.
Seeing others getting success in life and feeling happy for the position they have achieved is a very encouraging approach.
A person who is confident about his or her own skills and has a great grip on his or her own field shall always keep a satisfied approach.
Other's success shall set an example with inspiring experiences and stories to remember.
The input in their lives shall be the success stories of other people which shall act as practical experiences for them also.
A person's satisfied approach would come from every quarter whether ownself or other's examples, the experiences are successful, positive and productive.

The environment which is known to him or her has a lot of discipline and a determined approach to rise higher in life.
Our level of thinking and intellect too increases with examples of other people's success.
So let us learn, adopt and wish for other's prosperity too.
Automatically, we too shall benefit by improving further and implementing the best of success experiences of other's in our own path towards growth and achievement.

Movie Portraying- Playing With Human Emotions.

Blog by-Dr Jaya Kumar.
Projection of humanity with a different perspective on which raised a big question in the minds of viewers, who came to watch a much hyped movie set during the times of war between two nations.
The acting skills of all the actors in the movie, including the protagonist was appreciable. The maturity of the performances could be easily felt after seeing the movie, but surely some questions came to my mind while watching this movie.
A big question was why had this subject been chosen for making a movie?
What was the objective, message or purpose of making this movie?
Was the storyline of this movie important or relevant from any point of view?
The only answer which I could think of was that the story line of the movie had no relevance and everything seemed to be out of context.
If we believe that this movie, as it is claimed to be, was based on a true story, even then a subject like this should not have been highlighted so much.
It seemed not about love for one's country, but was a breach of trust, crushing of human emotions, back stabbing in love and affection and above all a heart break of true sentiments.

As a true and patriotic person I felt sympathy for the family who gave so much of love and cared for the new member who joined the family after marriage even though, she was of a different nationality.
From my point of view, nationalism is about loving and respecting one's country while always keeping in mind good values and ethos. We cannot even think of crushing humanity for the sake of proving or protecting ourselves.
In today's time when our society is getting misguided and the human relations are taking a back seat, why should we promote a subject on the same lines just for the sake of it.
Our creativity or creative thoughts should infact enlighten and awaken society for the betterment.
Creative freedom and the hard-work put in the movie making is appreciable but emotions of human values are supreme, above all and universal.
So as a society it is our responsibility and duty to spread beautiful and humane messages which is relevant for maintaining a cultured civilised and peaceful society.

Food for thought

Blog by-Dr Jaya Kumar.

Food for thought is a must in our lives. No one can claim to possess all the knowledge in this world.
Constant interaction with experts of various fields and gaining and sharing sessions with them is very essential.
The correct updated knowledge from authentic sources enhance our existing knowledge base or may increase our knowledge of that particular field.
Food for thought regarding different topics always acts as a thought provoking perspective regarding a correct analysis of a particular subject.
Food for thought acts as an exchange forum of different groups and sections of the society which are bound by a thread of common issues. As a policy, we should keep in mind that regular input of food for thought should become an essential feature of our lives.

When we get additional knowledge of a different subject, aspect or perspective, it acts as a value addition to our behavioural pattern.
It has a direct input towards our overall personality development.
Just sitting inside a shell or a closed confined atmosphere never gives us any chance to open up.
It even becomes a monotonous type of work culture without any much overall benefit. So whenever and wherever we get a chance to come across any thought provoking session at any level, we should really make a good use of the shared knowledge and information.
Let us be an enthusiastic participant in the food for thought sessions, and be ready to learn and grow with additional knowledge gathered and acquired.

Technology should be used to connect us.

Blog by-Dr Jaya Kumar.
With the rising technology, human touch is vanishing. Our society is becoming highly connected through technology but, in general, it is getting disconnected at the human level.
The human factor is slowly diminishing in the fast paced world. With apps like WhatsApp becoming a popular medium to connect, commercial messages which are generally out of context or sometimes even the messages which have no authenticity, are being forwarded in many groups.
There are only a very few forwarded messages which seem like someone's own experiences, conveying wishes or beliefs.
The human emotions are taking a back seat. People nowdays donot find time to make a phone call or paying a personal visit to someone even though the improvement in technology has made things easy, convenient and economical.
It seems like people donot even wish to meet and greet each other nowadays. They are becoming more like technological robots without emotions.

The expectations from relations and acquaintances are changing with time. Everyone is so involved in technology that in reality neither they get time to say what's up to each other nor they wish to have a face to face conversation with each other.
Infact the 'more than welcome' attitude has changed to 'no welcome' behaviour.
Human engagement is now believed to be like a breach of personal space.
Technological connections seem to be accepted more than having a personal humane 'one to one' connection.
We now have to give a sincere thought on to whether we have to make the best use of the advancement in technology and communication or we keep finding excuses every time. Technology should be used to connect us and not to alienate us.
So let us again get connected with our personal emotions and care for each other like it always used to be before the 'invasion' of technology in our lives.

Loving Your Grandparents..

Blog by-Dr Jaya Kumar.

Children should spend quality time with their grandparents. Quality time to strengthen a strong bond between two different generations.
For an overall growth and development of children, the way they are brought up matters a lot.
To inculcate in them aavalue of maturity and sensitivity at a young age is a responsibility of the parents.
In this context, developing a strong loving relationship with the grandparents is also a part of a good upbringing.
Two generations should regularly come together and share their experiences and knowledge with each other. It is a memorable experience for both.
Both the generations are at that stage of life where they have so much to share with each other.

The younger generation needs correct guidance, support and encouragement in their lives, whereas the older generation has so much of experience and exposure which can surely act as a value-oriented guiding force.
The atmosphere then becomes a beautiful interactive based caring, loving, supportive, understanding and sharing.
The time spent together with a purpose adds magic to relations. Children have to be nurtured in an environment full of respect and intellect which in turn shall become their own way of living and valuing life for all times to come.

Change is part and parcel of life...

Blog by-Dr Jaya Kumar.
Change is part and parcel of life. Change always brings in a new hope and energy for making situations better than before.
Change can be of any type but surely it has to be more positive and should act as value addition.
Why do we need to wait for things to happen by themselves? Why do we not put in a new perspective and make things happen in reality through our own efforts.
Change in a corrective sense for further improvement is always a big booster.
Our apprehensions and doubts for many things stop us for the new changes.

Questions like what, when and how strike our mind. Our mind gets busy in finding these answers and time just passes by. Then finally, when we get the answer to our unsolved questions, the value addition to change loses much relevance.
The change required at that particular time is appreciated only if it comes in time.
So, before it becomes too late, let us change our perspective to enjoy the fruits of changes.
All changes in our lives shall hopefully bring in new positivity and prove to be a good changes for a better future and a new outlook towards life.

Relations Have An Undefined Beauty..

Blog by- Dr Jaya Kumar.

Our relations are value based. Infact the love we share with each other is also based on our concern for each other.
Even the smallest of things shared with each other should be full of appreciation and compliments for an ever- growing and ever- glowing beautiful relationship.
All relationships have a different beauty of their own. The beauty of an undefined bond of trust and need.
The need to always be with each other. The need to be in the company of people who you wish to be always surrounded with.
Relationships are not one sided affairs. They are a double ended tie of cherishing every loving moment and gesture of your loved ones.

It is an unsaid promise to be kept with a true heart and soul.
The purity of heart and truthfulness to value the bond of relations is necessary for growth of any relationship.
Relationships are also based on sentiments.
The emotional ocean in which you just wish your heart to feel sweet feelings.
Feelings to be dearly loved, deeply understood and emotionally attached to. Relations have an undefined beauty of their own which has to be valued deeply for developing a much stronger bond with every passing moment of our lives.

Happy Mother's Day

Blog By-Dr Jaya Kumar.
Mothers are special and dear.
They leave no stone unturned to make their children feel special too.
They make them believe in their capabilities and skills.
They make them realize that their existence is valuable.
They compliment their children on the achievements and is the most happy person on earth once they accomplish them.
A mother always wants her kids to be ahead of her in all aspects.
She always wishes that her children should not carry forward any of the drawbacks she herself had.
She loves them so much that her only wish is to see her children on the top of the world.
If the children are following a wrong path, she counsels them to follow the correct one.
Sometimes she gets very angry and annoying but it is all for the improvement of her children.

She cannot see them doing or committing any wrong in their life.
So on the occasion of Mother's day, wishing all mothers a very Happy Mother's Day. May every mother's dreams be full-filled for her children.
SURELY THE VALUE AND IMPORTANCE OF A MOTHER CANNOT BE DEFINED IN WORDS AND IT IS ALSO IMPOSSIBLE TO SOMETIMES UNDERSTAND THE TRUE FEELINGS OF A MOTHER...

Self Written Poem-

A Beauty and a Grace,
No Tiredness on Face,
A Smile with a Radiant Glow,
Inspiring, Encouraging and an Energetic Flow.
Putting lots of efforts for all,
Loving everyone dearly in every Rise and Fall.
A Mother is the Creator of humanity,
She nurtures many lives with values, warmth and utmost sanity.
Her sacrifices cannot be put in words or defined,
As she puts in her best to make our lives more refined.

Tragic End Of A Tough Cop

Blog by- Dr Jaya Kumar.

Many a times a certain news piece shakes you emotionally.
It makes you think and rethink on the various aspects of life.
Infact you start realising the game of life and it reminds and flashes in front of your eyes.
The only question which strikes your mind is that how could it be possible?
The tragic end of a tough cop, a former ATS chief makes us feel that toughness may never last.
A brave heart too sometimes loses all hopes if life takes a turn.
The mental trauma breakes down even a tough guy.

A person who was a terror for criminals himself became terrorised by his deteriorating medical condition.
We at times become too small and weak in front of the laws of nature. Nature takes its own course and turns our life to a dead end.
Life plays its games and we are left feeling losers. Losers who lose all hope to emerge a winner again.
The emotional turmoil takes away the wish to live this life.
Our heart still feels that a tough guy deserved a better and a heroic end not a tragic one.
Yes it may be true that life could sometimes become unbearable to lead further, but a hope and a second chance can always be given.
As times become tougher, we should become even more tough to face the biggest challenges of life and to win the battle of survival like a hero.

Gift Mother Earth

Blog By-Dr Jaya Kumar.
Living and loving nature is the best gift we can give back to nature. It is true that if we go with nature, many of our physical problems can be solved.
Enjoying freshness of a large tree or appreciating the beauty of a tender flower.
Infact, we human beings are also a part of nature. With increasing commercialisation of our lives we have disconnected ourselves from nature.
Days pass by and we donot get any time to appreciate the majesty of nature.
With increasing global warming and a drastic change in Earth's Atmosphere, it becomes even more essential for us to be sensitive towards a greener world.
At times due to the increasing pressures in our lives we feel low.
During such times, if we go out and take a stroll in nature in open or just sit in greenery, we shall surely feel relaxed.
Watering our plants and taking care of them is also a very refreshing activity.
Watching the blossoming of a flower from our own pot gives a very happy and satisfying feeling.

Even the smell of wet mud feels so aromatic. It also gives a feeling of being loved by mother nature.
Therefore let us take out time to contribute our bit by planting more plants and adopting means of our contribution towards Mother Earth.
Since Mother's Day is round the corner, let us start appreciating and loving our Mother Earth through nature even more. A true gift for a greener environment for a brighter and safer future.

Photograph, Give Me Something To Remember.

Blog by-Dr Jaya Kumar.

Memories of old family photographs are very beautiful. Infact it is a photograph which reminds us of the events which we may have forgotten.
Even though the memories of various events might be in our minds but seeing the photographs later, everything becomes fresh in our mind again.
Even a single photograph fills our lives with a refreshing change.
A family sitting together and enjoying the old memories attached to each and every photograph is a moment to rejoice.
Old photographs are a treasure which we can share with our children and future generation.
Children too get an emotional attachment with the past events and people related to us.
They in a way, can also relive the old moments of their family members.
Photographs are a source of motivation also.

The younger generation can get inspired by viewing and seeing the glory and fame of their ancestors which was captured beautifully much earlier.
The awards, rewards, family gatherings, get- together, excursions, almost everything captured by the lens like a perfect picture.
Photographs act as a connection between all the generations coming together.
The collection of old personal photographs is like reviving and keeping the legacy of one's family.
Therefore, surely take out time to sit together as a family and revisit your old memories through photographs down the memory lane and journey of life.
This will surely bond us together in stronger relationships all through our lives.

Follow Your Dreams

Blog by-Dr Jaya Kumar.

There is a dream which we see for ourselves. We also live for that dream to be fulfilled by our efforts.
There is also a dream which people see for us. People who really love and appreciate us from the heart.
They see and feel that spark in us. The spark of passion and zeal to excel in the field choosen by us.
When we are surrounded by such people who develop high hopes from us, our responsibilities increase substantially.
Responsibilities to fulfill someone else's expectations.
It is such a fortunate feeling that people were able to recognise our talent and could even feel the efforts put by us in the journey to fulfill our dreams.

These people become messangers of the Almighty who are sent as constant reminders for us. They remind us to follow our dreams and achieve them too.
We forget that an unseen power acts as a guiding force which is always with us.
We may become casual for a second and step back before reaching our dream and aim, but surely those messanger's hopes on us shall act as a constant reminders for us.
They shall act as motivating forces to fulfill their expectations. There are also few people who not only dream for themselves but they also dream for other's success and achievements too. Therefore it is our duty to just go for it and achieve them to fulfill the unsaid promises to ourself and to show that the dreams and faith of others was true and real.

Well Done Doctor

Blog by-Dr Jaya Kumar.
On certain occasions one feels very happy from the heart and feels elevated in emotions too.
It feels as if you are on the top of the world because of someone else's success.
You feel happy not because of your personal success but the reason of your happiness is in the happiness, joy and achievement of someone else.
Last year when I was crowned as Mrs Greeshm Delhi by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of Delhi, for more than me, it became a matter of pride and happiness for everyone who loved me so dearly.
I was filled with a feeling of utmost happiness seeing everyone happy for me.
I felt a similar feeling recently when one of our neighbour's daughter who is a qualified doctor  achieved a rank among the top 20 successful candidates in the current Indian Civil Service Examination.

I could not stop my emotions of sheer bliss.
In her success I felt as if my own child has climbed the ladder of success.
In my personal journey I have always experienced that if we are happy in other's happiness we ourselves become a contended, satisfied and happy person from our heart.
If people feel happy for you, as an individual you should feel blessed and fortunate that together you are spreading smiles and happiness all around.
Positivity brings back positivity and happiness brings back a wonderful feeling of joy.
So let us share our happiness together and be happy in other's happiness too.

You Can't Fly Unless You Let Yourself

Blog by-Dr Jaya Kumar.

Fly high with open wings. Reach that height where there are no apprehensions, tensions and stresses.
A point where you feel a sense of true freedom. Freedom from all the worries of life. A point of detachment with everything which is disturbing you.
It could even be your own thoughts or concerns and pressures of life.
Life is not easy to lead but in reality is very easy to live. While dealing with the pressures of leading this life, we forget to infact live it fully.
Live every single moment for our own selves. Detachment does not mean running away from our responsibilities. It just means to be more of being with ourself.
As a human being we too have limitations of our own. Limitations to work and think about others. There is no need to cross these limitations and think too much about all that is happening around us. Neither shall our thinking change other's attitude and perception nor shall we be able to convince people around us to value everything in life.

If we try to do this the result shall be that we ourselves shall feel like a bird captured in a cage who is not able to freely fly.
The captivity slowly kills the bird from inside. A bird just needs freedom to fly in the wide open sky by spreading its wings.
So let us at least try to detach ourselves from the people and situations which bother us to let ourselves free.
Free like that bird whose aim is to fly very high in the open sky immersed in the feeling of freshness of pure freedom.
