Baisakhi - A festival of Inspiration......

Baisakhi has many names. It is celebrated in different parts of the country in diferrent ways and with different purposes.
Farmers rejoice and the Sikh community is proud.
It is also the beginning of New Year celebrations for the Bengali community. In Assam, the celebrations commence with great pomp and show, smile and laughter.
This day also reminds us of the massive blood-shed at the Jallianwala Bagh where hundreds of innocent people had to lay down their lives to the cruelty of General Dyer who made everyone his target.
But, it was the young like Udham Singh who made a promise to himself to take a revenge. He came back twenty years later and fulfilled his vow on the day of Baisakhi or Vaisakhi as we call it. On this day itself, Bhagirathi brought 'Maa Ganga' to India to bless all of us and to purify our souls with the sacred Ganga Jal.
The beauty of this festival also lies in where the great Guru Gobind Singh established the Khalsa Panth.
What a wonderful and an inspirational festival Baisakhi is. Diversified but yet unified in the times and purpose it is celebrated in.
This festival is such a necklace whose every pearl and bead has its own story to tell and a purpose to celebrate with inspiration.
So let us all rejoice this day and celebrate the occasion.
We should feel proud that we are fortunate to be born in our country - India, a land where the reasons for celebrations are many but the major purpose is to live life to the fullest and value every moment.
HAPPY BAISAKHI TO ALL.....
