KARTIK HERE - RISE AND AWAKE

Blog By- Dr Jaya Kumar.

Kartik - The Hindu Month is celebrated as the most holy and sacred Hindu Month.
The Gujarati New Year also falls in the month of Kartik - the first month of Gujarati calendar.
People put their sorrows behind and prepare to welcome a new beginning.
Karthigai Masam the favourite month for Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu as per Tamil Belief also coincides with the Kartik month in Hindi, Gujarati, Telugu and Kannada calendars.
The Kartik month is considered to be very auspicious to worship Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu and Lord Kartik.

Chanting the Gayatri Mantra during this period is believed to give beneficial results.
Taking Holy bath or a Holy dip before the sunrise during this month gives relief from the sufferings and sins of life.

This is an age-old belief and faith. It completely depends on every individual as to how to look upon the purpose of various rituals and faiths associated with a religion.
Scientific studies have also proven that starting your day before sunrise is really beneficial for the human body.
It purifies our body and rejuvenates it. It refreshes our soul and fills us with positivity and a youthful energy.
The famous adage "Early to bed and early to rise makes man healthy, wealthy and wise", also supports this theory and confirms our belief in the rituals observed during Kartik month.
Many important Hindu festivals are also celebrated in the Kartik month. Karva-Chauth, Tulsi-Vivah, Dhanteras, Deepavali, Govardhan-Puja, Bhai-Dooj, Nav-Chaturthi, Chhath-Puja, Kartik-Ekadasi, Kartik-Purnima are some of the major festivals.

Chardham-Yatra, the pilgrimage to the holy shrines such as Gangotri Temple, Yamunotri Temple, Badrinath and Kedarnath Temple are concluded during the Kartik month.

Every festival that we celebrate in our incredible India gives us a chance to change our life-style for healthy and a simple life.
It develops our outlook for self-growth and development.
Our individual enlightenment shall work towards a progressive and an enlightened society.

HAPPY SHARAD POORNIMA

 Blog By-Dr Jaya Kumar.

'SHARAD POORNIMA' according to Hindu mythology is a very auspicious day to perform various religious rituals wholeheartedly.
It is believed that on this day, 'Lord Krishna' along with the Gopis performed the 'Maha-Raslilla', a dance of the Divine.

It is believed that on this day the 'Moon Beams', the rays of the beautiful Moon have special therapeutic healing powers.
Following this belief, the sweet-rice 'kheer' dish is made on this day. The procedure to make it therapeutic is by keeping it under the moonlight, whole night.
Then early in the morning, the 'Therapeutic Holy Kheer' is eaten with full trust and the faith of it being a 'Blessed Kheer'.

On this day the moon is closer to the earth and therefore it's beam has cosmic powers which come directly to our mother earth.
Hindu epics also believe that on this day Goddess Lakshmi takes a round of the whole earth and blesses all.
"Cleanliness is next to Godliness '.
A clean environment, a clean body, a pure heart and a clear soul even makes God happy is a universal belief and the truth.
Let us celebrate every festival with its full fervour and flavour.
In India, we have many festivals to enjoy and celebrate.
The purpose behind celebrating every festival should be to develop a loving bond among each other.
We should feel blessed and fortunate to be born in this country where we have values, faith, ethics, morals and a beautiful culture which we have to maintain and inculcate in our coming generations.
As a true human being our first religion should be belief in humanity and to understand the in-depth purpose and the logical reason behind celebrating every festival.
Let us spread happiness far and wide this festive season.

Success? It depends on you !

  Blog By- Dr Jaya Kumar.

How can success be measured? There is no way or method to truly measure it. Success or failure and the extent of it is how you feel about it.
It can be gauged only by one's own self. Do we feel successful when we are happy?
Evaluating by various parameters, happiness could be one of the parameters, that exhibits that we are successful.
In our lives we face so many challenges and hurdles that if we still manage to be happy, we are surely successful.
Likewise, spending beautiful enjoyable moments with one's family is one's success.
You are successful if you can give time and love to your family.
Do we feel successful if we go to bed and get a good and beautiful night sleep?
Surely, we should feel success if we can do that. Forgetting all the pressures and tensions of life, we are a success to get a  self - satisfying blissful sleep at the end of the day.
Success also is to wake up in the morning and face the world with self - confidence and a positive approach.

' Success - rate' is not an economic term but instead is our outlook and approach in life.
What become our priority in life?
Our financial status and professional achievements are not the only measurements of success.
The parameters of being successful in the real sense are in fact spread far and wide.
It completely depends on each and every individual as to how to enjoy their little and significant successes in life or to keep waiting and longing for bigger success all his life.
Life is to be happy and every moment that brings in that, is a success.

SMILE ! IT'S FREE

 Blog By- Dr Jaya Kumar.

We should always be thankful to God for blessing us with this beautiful life. Life is not always like a bed of roses.
Sometimes it shall be really tough to lead. We shall face various ups and downs as they all are a part and parcel of this life. Problems and hurdles which shall come our way shall act like challenges which we have to face everyday. In any and every situation we are in, we need to keep a beautiful smile and face all problems smilingly.
I try to teach my son too, these lessons of life.
As mothers, it is our utmost responsibility to nurture the correct ethics and morals in our children.
Since his childhood, I have tried to inculcate in my son, the fact that smile makes our path easy and affects our overall personality and behaviour. It may not be a real smile to start with, but that smile will surely convert into a laughter and that laughter into happiness and that happiness shall lift everyone's mood and spirit.
It is all up to us to be sad for what we are or have or to keep a beautiful smile in the hope to gain happiness in future.
Spreading happiness far and wide and sharing a beautiful smile is like worshipping God.

Over time, my son too has developed a faith in my such beliefs.
Recently, I along with my son, had visited a prominent  mall in the city. As we entered the mall, we felt happy to see the beautiful decorations all around.
We, out of curiosity, enquired the reason for those lovely decorations.
The reason we came to know was the Anniversary Celebrations for the mall. Many events were on to celebrate the completion of ten years of opening of the mall.
We went in to wish the organising team with beautiful bright smiles.
Even the emcee for the event complimented us for the smiles we had on our faces.
To mark their anniversary celebration, the mall had organised a big event to spread smiles and happiness among the underprivileged children too.
Visitors with beautiful smiles were photographed, to be shown to the underprivileged children.
The event was to uplift their souls and to make them too feel important in the society. Happy faces always spread happiness.
Both me and my son too got photographed and we left a happy and an inspiring message for those children.
The event organisers appreciated our gesture. They further told us that we were the only persons who had a beautiful genuine smiles on their faces while being photographed so far. The underprivileged children would surely be happy to see our beautiful smiles for them.
My son felt a sense of pride and self-satisfaction at that moment. We both had a 'close encounter' with smile and happiness, especially spread for others, which is the most precious and beautiful thing in this world.

Happy Gandhi Jayanti

Blog By- Dr Jaya Kumar

Widely inspirational and a transformational figure in the Indian history, Father of our nation, Mahatma Gandhi, whose birthday is celebrated as Gandhi Jayanti, marks his 148th birth anniversary this year.
He was a multi-faceted man with many qualities. He was an independent, a self-sufficient and a self-disciplinary human-being.
'Mahatma' felt a sense of self-satisfaction in doing even the meanest of work. 'Bapu', as he was fondly called, took pride in doing things on his own.
His philosophies of life were simple and realistic. They always had in-depth lessons for life.
"Be the change that you wish to see in the world", is one of the many beautiful quotes by Mahatma Gandhi.
No one can stop us if we really want a change.
Problems of life should never act as hurdles.
Our social status and social strata should also never matter.
In reality what matters is our passionate approach, our focused action and our dedicated thought-process.
Execution and implementation of our actions is the first step towards the path of transformation.
Our real tribute to the great man of India, Mahatma Gandhi, shall be by following the path of self-sufficiency, sincerity and truth as shown and followed by Mahatma Gandhi himself.
Collectively let us take a pledge this Gandhi Jayanti for bringing a transformational change which would lead our nation towards the path of progress, upliftment and empowerment.

Human Internal Power

 Blog By- Dr Jaya Kumar.

Human life is very unpredictable. Anything can happen anytime. Sometimes even our preparation fails and life suddenly takes a u-turn.
Our planning could not be executed because of reasons emerging suddenly.
At this point of time, the one thing which keeps us going is, our internal power.
We look for answers from God, but if we really think deeply we can come to a conclusion ourselves.
The conclusion is that it is our own internal power and strength which has Godly powers.
This is different from being affected by a natural calamity or an unfortunate accident where we have no control over it's happening.

In those times, we may feel that even our internal power is lost since we are practically dwarfed by the magnitude of such an event, but, in all other situations it is only our own internal power which keeps us going.
Going that makes us stronger. God has blessed us all with an internal spark.
It is only ourselves who can ignite it. Ignite and burn all our problems and issues which adversely affect us. It is only ourselves as an individual who can gather all the strength to face the challenges of this world with our heads held high.
Just feel all the strength inside yourself to feel the power of the Almighty.
Feel that He is guiding you to reach your destination.
So just stand up to bounce-back if you are down. We can be down but surely not out till we are alive.
SEARCH FOR YOUR OWN INTERNAL POWER..

HAPPY DUSSHERA

Blog By- Dr Jaya Kumar.

Dussehra is the festival of righteousness and truth emerging as victorious.

*Dussehra- Dus (दस) Hara (हारा). If we combine the two words, it means दस हारा.*

Pride has a fall, a proven fact. We are reminded of this every time we witness the powerful fire which burns the effigy of Ravana.
Inspite of being a powerful ruler, Ravana's immoral values cost him his life.
It is believed that he had ten heads. A correct thought process in the ten heads could have made so much of a difference towards bringing in prosperity and happiness. It instead, brought in complete destruction of Ravana.
Our mind-set and our thought-process are behind our success and failure which has to be self-analysed.
Greed could grip us but the purity of our heart and mind control our emotions. Self-satisfaction has to be the biggest asset of our lives. Self-satisfaction is the path to salvation.
Self-correction is also a must.
Arrogance kills our souls and being humble enlightens our souls.
Sensible thinking should be practised, else the repercussions and effects can be really harmful. Truth shall always emerge victorious in the end.

The path of truthfulness might be difficult to lead in today's world. There could be many hurdles too, to cross and to overcome. There could also be multiple difficulties which we may have to face. The respite in all this is that these troubles and tribulations make us more stronger and courageous than before. Our approach and aim should be a focused one with purity in our hearts. We surely shall emerge victorious.
The Divine Grace guides us, teaches us and gives us a chance. A chance to change our outlook and our perspective towards our betterment and growth.
A change in our individual lives could even change the collective national outlook at a macro level.
Therefore, let us learn and adopt the in-depth lessons hidden in every festival we celebrate in our incredible India.
