HOPE

 Blog BY- Dr. Jaya Kumar.

Hope in itself is a word larger than life. In fact, so many times our life is just based on hope. Hope gives us a reason to live.

It makes us believe in ourselves and it tells us to hold on patiently for ever. It gives us motivation to never give up in life. Just like every night is followed by a day, darkness is followed by brightness, our life also has hope after despair.

We all hope to live for another day, then why lose hope on small things which may disturb us. We should always hope for the best and leave the rest. The only thing we should remember is that our hard work is in our own hands.

Hope should act as a direction giver towards achievement of our passion to enrich ourselves. When we lose hope, we lose everything,. But if we keep our hope alive, we get a reason to live for another day in a hope that it would be a much better day than yesterday.

HOPE WE ALL LEAD A BEAUTIFUL, PROGRESSIVE, PRODUCTIVE AND  A PEACEFUL LIFE AHEAD..........

WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT

Blog by- Dr. Jaya Kumar

Neha our protagonist, always believes that we all are different as human beings. We are different in approach, attitude, perspective and personalities.

Our passions are different as well as purposes of life too differ from each other.

This approach towards life should be respected by all. If anyone is not interfering in your life, it is your responsibility to also not interfere in anyone's life.

Today's story: WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT.

One day, Neha was teaching Hari about the values of life.

Hari lovingly asked Neha, " Please teach me the true values of life which you have personally experienced." 'Why not?', Neha thought, since she knew that he is an intelligent boy who observes his mother's great efforts and her approach towards life. Neha as a mother, had always felt that, it is her utmost duty to enlighten Hari with true values of life. Neha used to make it a point that after listening to her thoughts, Hari himself should analyse the crux of their conversation. Age is never a  criteria for real understanding. After all, many great men did wonders at a very young age.

A very fine example would be the great musician Mozart with whom Dr. Naveen had compared Hari with, while prasing him for his performance at a party. One should be ready to learn from life and it can be learnt at any age and any stage.

Neha started explaining Hari that as a human being our physical attributes are the same but the fact remains that we all are so different in many ways.

Our thought process is completely different from each-other. Our perspective for life also differs from each-other as well as our personalities. There are very few people who we can actually feel good being with. Those people with whom we would like to share our thoughts and views too.

Though some people who we meet are down-to-earth, few others will sometimes behave in such an arrogant manner that we shall be forced to think as to why they exhibit that kind of behaviour? At times we might also wonder that some people laugh and seem joyful in public, but, are actually hiding sadness in their hearts.

Occasionally, people may also show themselves as an extrovert in public gatherings but inside they would be an introvert, fearing everything in life. With every situation we tend to change our roles. Many a times, we change the script of our lives as time demands.

But whatever the times may be, and situations we may face in our lives, good or bad, the ups or downs and whether we get name and fame, we have to make a promise to ourselves that we have to be a gentle human being who spreads happiness everywhere.

We can be very different in our approach but should always be truthful in whatever we do. We have to be honest with ourselves and with all the relations and people who we are attached to. Do not fear even if people do not like your honest opinion. We have to be straight-forward in our lives. This shall not be to offend others but to make it clear to them, that you as a person should not be taken for granted.

Respect everyone, but, self-respect should be your priority. It is better to be associated with fewer people who act as an asset in your life adding value to your existence rather than being related to everyone who act as a liability for you and act as hindrances to your intellectual growth.

We all are different, and are born to lead our lives according to our personal understandings and values we have inherently.

This is how 'We are different'. Neha then asked Hari to think over all that she has shared and then make a self-analysis to choose a path for himself as a good human being.

THE INSPIRING MAN

Story by-Dr. Jaya Kumar.

Neha, our protagonist always believes in positive thinking. She likes books, quotes and thoughts which have some motivational and inspirational thought-provoking words.
She is always impressed by people who truly understand and follow 'The Real Art Of Living'.
As a person, Neha too believes in inspiring and motivating others, not only by her words but also by her actions.
Today's story: 'THE INSPIRING MAN'.
Neha, her husband Sohit along with their son Hari had gone to attend a wedding-anniversary party at Inder's house.
Inder is Neha's maternal aunt's son, a doctor by profession.
Hari, Neha's son, was growing up and gifted to become a polished 'tabla' player. Inder, while inviting Sohit and his family for his party, had requested Sohit for Hari to play his beautiful musical instrument 'the tabla', through a performance at his party.
Sohit agreed to this request of Inder lovingly. 'Why not?' thought Sohit. Once when Hari was very young and for the very first time he put his hands on tabla and showed that he had the ability to not only just play it but play it beautifully too. This incident  happened at his same maternal uncle, Inder's house, so, as a mark of respect for Inder and his wife Kavita, Sohit agreed instantly.
Hari, prepared a lovely performance for the party.
On the day of the party, Sohit, Neha and Hari reached Inder's house well on time.
'Time is the most precious thing'. A philosophy Neha and family always believed in and practiced too.
On reaching their house, they congratulated both Inder and Kavita happily and made themselves comfortable.
Other guests too started coming in. Among them, Neha's attention was caught by a couple who was not known to her as she had seen them for the first time. The couple was not young but was looking very smart and elegant as they entered the party. Neha was impressed by their attire and persona. They both had a grace and aura about them. Neha felt nice to see a couple who looked dignified and were ageing gracefully as well.
Not knowing them personally, as they were Inder's professional guests, and even with no formal introduction with them, Neha could feel a certain  connection with them because of their pleasing and inspiring personality. The party went on and later as the dinner was about to be served, Neha reminded Inder about Hari's performance that he had requested for.
Inder requested everyone to gather together to witness Hari's performance.
Neha and Sohit made a small make-shift stage to make Hari's performance look special.
Both of them not only love Hari, but also respect him as a human being. So, they always make it a point that Hari's efforts are well recognized and appreciated by all.
Hari started his performance and conducted himself gracefully. He gave a beautiful, melodious and a classic presentation. His hardwork could be seen through his lovely performance.
Everyone present there applauded Hari for his performance.
Inder also felt proud since the presentation was dedicated to him by young Hari. As he was thanking Hari for his splendid performance, from among all guests present there, a dignified and graceful man very confidently and fearlessly came forward and asked Inder to hand over the mike to him as he too wished to say something about Hari's performance. He said that he wished to share some of his personal feelings after watching Hari's performance.
Acknowledging his request, Inder introduced that genltleman as his mentor and guide whose name was Dr. Naveen. He is a very senior, well-respected and a renowned doctor in the field of medicine. He is also the chief of a well-reputed hospital as well as head of department in a leading hospital in the country.
That day, Dr. Naveen was also accompanied by his wife Dr. Bindu.
Neha had listened carefully  to the introduction given about Dr. Naveen and thought that sometimes one does not need any introduction specifically. Besides your name, your personality too speaks a thousand words.
Neha was all ears to what Dr.Naveen would speak. First, Dr.Naveen very affectionately and lovingly hugged Hari. He then started praising Hari for his lovely performance. Dr. Naveen shared that he was so overwhelmed by Hari's performance that he felt that it gave a new life to the party and made it worth coming to and worth remembering.
Dr. Naveen blessed Hari wholeheartedly and wished great success to Hari for his future endeavours. He also praised Neha and Sohit for their all-round efforts and a cultured-upbringing for Hari.
Neha, Sohit and Hari felt deeply honoured and touched by Dr. Naveen's words. His words had a great value for them. Every word coming from him was big and had lots of weightage.
There was no formal introduction done with Dr.Naveen, but he instantly developed a connection with Neha, Sohit and Hari.
Dr. Naveen words had truth, his speech had power and his personality clearly exhibited that Dr. Naveen must be a self-made man who had a different outlook towards life.
Dr. Naveen's confident demeanour showed his knowledge and experience.
Afterwards, Neha, Sohit, Hari and Dr. Naveen had an informal conversation where every word which was exchanged between them was inspirational, motivational, encouraging, concrete and full of  knowledge.
This meeting became memorable one.
DR. NAVEEN AND SOHIT AFTER THAT MEMORABLE MEETING ARE STILL IN TOUCH WITH EACH OTHER AND SHARE LIFE'S TRUTHS, GOOD THOUGHTS AND WISDOM, REGULARLY, WHICH ARE WELL-APPRECIATED BY MANY.
DR. NAVEEN ALSO SHARED A VERY IMPORTANT MESSAGE THAT DAY, HE SAID, 'YOU EITHER INSPIRE OR EXPIRE.'
NEHA TOO LIKED THAT THOUGHT, AND BELIEVED THAT IT IS TRUE THAT EITHER YOU LIVE LIKE AN INSPIRATION OR EXPIRE WITHOUT ANY INTELLECTUAL GROWTH...YOU HAVE ONE LIFE..CHOOSE WHAT YOU WANT..

MY LIFE... MY BOOK...

Blog by- Dr.Jaya Kumar.
Human beings are the weakest species on this earth. We are weak because we have weak minds which is easily captured by other people.

Sometimes we are under the influence of others opinions and views so much that we even forget our own thoughts. We start to view things according to others. We see things as what they want us to see. We get under pressure of the society or individual human beings so much that we forget to analyse the situations ourselves.

Though, it is a good habit to listen to others carefully but sometimes we become the target of others influence too much. What is correct for us, what is beneficial for us and what decisions are appropriate for our life, are the questions that remained unanswered. Sometimes it is in the name of the society as to what it shall think, and at other times it is in the name of age and experience that others have, may be more than you. Many other times it is in the name of the concern that 'I am more concerned about you'. Whatever be the case, one loses one's own identity and follows other's advise.

Listen to everyone, but act according to your own will. Every life on this earth is different. Every life-style is unique. When we are born we are blessed with a unique and a beautiful brain. Use it more often. Do self-analysis of every situation. Respect everyone, but first respect your own self, your opinions and thoughts.

Try to make a distinction between the right and the wrong, true and false, care or interference, concern or jealousy, friendship or back-stabbing. Be careful at every point of time and act what you think is right. Talk to your inner-self before listening to others.

WE SHALL GET ONLY ONE LIFE SO THINK HOW YOU WANT TO LEAD IT...

HOLY BASIL

Story By- Dr. Jaya Kumar.

Neha, our protagonist, always believes in God. She has a religious bent of mind, but, her first religion has always been humanity.
She has a strong faith in the rituals of every religion and has developed a spiritual thinking with reasoning and a logical approach.
Some faith is attached to values. Those values which we believe in since childhood. Values which are inherent to us as human beings.
One day, Neha was teaching moral ethics and education to her son Hari.
She gave a pause to her teachings. Before proceeding further, she wanted to share a personal experience with Hari.
Hari, is still a small boy, but is very sensible and sensitive towards everything happening around him. Both Neha and her husband Sohit believe that children should be inculcated with ethics and understanding of life correctly very early in life.
Neha and Sohit both personally feel that as parents, it is their duty and responsibility to share truths of life with Hari. A child should develop a strong and a fair sense of understanding and maturity to be able to correctly analyse situations and events happening around him. To emerge victorious in 'Examination of Life'.
Neha started narrating her story to Hari, which goes by the title: 'THE HOLY BASIL' .
This story is of the time when Hari was still a toddler. Neha, Sohit and Hari had gone to attend a wedding in Neha's paternal relations. The wedding ceremony was conducted well, but after a long and hectic set of rituals, everyone was extremely tired.
Early next morning, all the relatives who had come for the wedding, were sitting together at Neha's youngest paternal aunt Ranjana's house. Everyone was eager to have a hot cup of tea to refreshen themselves up.
Aunt Ranjana herself was feeling tired and lazy to make such a lot of tea for everyone present there.
At that hour, early in the morning, even her maid was fast asleep.
So, there was no help available but only relatives to render assistance. Ranjana herself, was not young any more. She was growing old. Rest everyone there, even the younger lot was feeling too lazy to act.
Now all eyes were on Neha, a person with un-ending energy who always used to be everyone's saviour in situations like this. But on careful analysis, it seemed like all of them in a way were misusing her innocence and true attachment towards everyone.
Neha herself was feeling tired and sleepy, but, it  never showed on her face.
She stood up smilingly and proceeded towards her aunt Ranjana's kitchen. Even though she never used to take tea herself, but, she would be preparing lots of tea-cups for everyone, she thought. All that because of her love for her loved ones which was Neha's philosophy of life. She should not break everyone's hope of having a good cup of tea, she thought.
She therefore, started preparing tea for all, happily. To make the tea taste even better and to bring a refreshing and a natural aroma to it, she took aunt Ranjana's permission to pluck a few leaves from the 'Holy Basil' plant growing in the courtyard of the house. The 'Holy Basil' plant was not only a herbal plant for Neha, but was her true faith of piousness and wellness.
A faith that her 'Tulsi Ma', as  she used to call it, the 'Holy Basil' would refreshen even the most tired body to soul. Basil leaves have a scientifically proven  medicinal power to energise and enliven human body.
As a self-defined rule Neha set for herself before plucking leaves from the basil plant, she sought permission from the plant itself, with folded hands, to allow her to take some leaves off it and she meant no disregard or harm to the plant.
This was a habit and a faith which Neha had followed since early childhood. All her relatives including her aunt Ranjana was aware of this habit and the true faith Neha had in her heart .
As Neha approached the holy basil plant, she saw that the plant was very young and small in size. Keeping this in mind, she plucked only one leaf from the plant after taking due permission of 'Holy Basil'.
She believed that even that one leaf was enough to bring the desired wonderful aroma into the tea she was preparing.
Neha, single-handedly, was also simultaneously arranging the tea cups, biscuits and some snacks everyone wished to have with tea.
She was putting her best effort for everyone to sit together and enjoy their hot cup of tea. But then something happened. Aunt Ranjana suddenly entered the kitchen where Neha was working and shouted at her scoldingly and said, "l think you have killed my basil plant and have plucked all its leaves just to add aroma and flavour to your tea to impress everyone".
Neha was shocked,  surprised and disappointed to hear those words coming from her aunt Ranjana, who knew Neha's attitude and sense of understanding from the day Neha was born.
Neha was hugely astonished and disheartened  as she was being confronted for the crime she has not even committed without any logic and reasoning.
Neha went almost numb for a few moments on hearing such words from her aunt whom she believed had wisdom befitting her age. Instead of giving any reaction to such words, Neha should prudence and just walked silently out of the kitchen. She was still holding the tray with tea for all and everything arranged nicely along with it.
Those words said by aunt that day made her lose all respect for her in the eyes of Neha. This was the story of 'The Holy Basil'.

Young Hari was listening to his mother's this story very carefully. He was surprised that her mother's eyes were not wet today event though there was another heart-break by a close relative.
Seeing Hari's apparent confusion hearing all that she said,
Neha shared with Hari, the moral of the story, based on her experience.
HUMAN VALUE IS ABOVE RELATIONS. EXPERIENCE IS NOT BOUND BY AGE. THE TRUTH SHALL ALWAYS EMERGE VICTORIOUS.
BE TRUE TO YOURSELF AND RESPECT THOSE WHO EARN IT WITH THEIR BEHAVIOUR AND ACTS.

THE CHRISTMAS CAKE

STORY BY-DR. JAYA KUMAR

Neha, our protagonist had always cherished beautiful incidents and moments which really touched her heart. She genuinely felt a deep sense of regard and respect for even small gestures done from heart by others.
This story goes back to the time when Neha got married. She had lots of dreams in her eyes. She was putting her heart and soul into making everyone happy in her newly entered in- laws relations.
The only reason for her to do so was her loving husband 'Sohit'. She had developed such love for him which was difficult to explain and was beyond words.
Love which shall not break even after Neha's death. She was sure. She believed that she may physically leave this world but her soul shall always be thinking and caring for 'Sohit's' well- being.
Therefore, for ''Sohit's' happiness, she was doing sincere efforts to make everyone around her happy.
As time passed by, she realised that one cannot make everyone happy. And, if one wishes or tries to do that one shall be a sufferer oneself.
Though this story, is not about suffering.
It is about care, affection and attachment.
Today's story : THE CHRISTMAS CAKE.
Little Hari was preparing for the Christmas day. He was decorating a Christmas tree and was helping Neha to make the Christmas Cake.
Neha believed that we all are created by One Creator, the Almighty and she was inculcating the same values in Hari too.
She and her family celebrated every festival with full joy and happiness.
While they were busy in preparations Neha suddenly had tears in her eyes. Hari was surprised. He wondered why was his mother crying?
He asked Neha the reason for her tears in a very innocent manner.
Neha told little Hari that a touching incident had come to her mind in reference to Christmas Celebrations.
Hari very lovingly asked her to share that incident with him. Neha, started narrating that touching moment which was still fresh in her mind even after a long period of time.
Hari, with his twinkling eyes, started carefully listening to his mother.
The incident took place on Neha's first Christmas after her marriage to Sohit.
It was 25th of December the Christmas Day and it was so very cold and chilly outside the house with cold winds blowing.
Neha and Sohit lived in a joint family with Sohit's parents.
During those days, Sohit's parents had gone out of station to enjoy their Christmas holidays.
Neha had wished that they should have been with us, to celebrate Neha and Sohit's first Christmas post marriage.
After all every first occasion after marriage had a unique importance.
Neha thought the reason for Sohit's parents to do so was Christmas or may be they had thought of giving some personal time to Neha and Sohit.
Neha was sitting and thinking that though it was Christmas Day but Sohit had a busy working day.
Neha, was on a winter break from her professional work. She was all alone at home that day. Sohit had promised that he would return early from work and he kept his promise.
During the day Neha had prepared a few dishes to celebrate the occasion of Christmas.
It was evening time and was dark and chilly outside. Among all the dishes that were there Neha felt something was missing.
It was the Christmas Cake. Since they did not have something to bake a cake at home, Neha could not make it for the evening.
Neha and Sohit thought later, that a Christmas Cake could have added more value to the occasion and their first Christmas celebration together would have become much more memorable.
Thinking this, Sohit told Neha that he shall go and bring a delicious cake for her happiness from a nearby cake- shop.
Neha felt happy with Sohit's this loving gesture but refused his offer after seeing the harsh and cold climate outside.
As they were busy making up their minds, the door bell rang.' At this hour of time? Who can think of visiting our house?' they thought.
They had not arranged for a formal dinner or a get - together.
'Such a cold weather and someone had come to visit them?' both Neha and Sohit thought alike.
Together they went to open the door for someone they had not expected at that hour.
As they opened the door, they saw a tall young man hiding his face behind a lovely cake in his hands.

Both Neha and Sohit instantly recognized the man behind the cake. He first lovingly sang a Christmas song and then asked both Neha and Sohit to let him inside the house.
He smilingly reminded them that it was very cold outside and amusingly asked if they both intended to cut their first Christmas Cake standing on the door in the biting cold.
Neha and Sohit most lovingly and with due respect and regard, invited that tall young man inside.
He was Mahesh. Sohit's paternal Uncle's son. Mahesh was elder to Sohit and both of them had grown- up together.

But at that moment of time and with such weather outside, Sohit himself was really touched by his cousin's loving gesture.
Neha was speechless at that moment. She had no words to express her joy and happiness on Mahesh's gesture.
She also was touched by Mahesh's effort, love and affection.
Neha had felt Mahesh's affection towards Sohit at several occasions earlier, but his bringing of the ' Christmas Cake ' that evening was not only his affection, but exhibited his true attachment and happiness for Sohit and Neha.
So many years have passed since that day, but the sweetness of that Christmas Cake is still fresh in Neha and Sohit's heart even today.
Neha had always prayed and wished for the success, wellness, happiness and prosperity of Mahesh and his family.
Hari, after listening to this story shared by her mother also developed more regard and respect for his paternal uncle ' Mahesh'. That was ' The Christmas Cake '.
RELATIONS CAN BE MANY IN ONE'S LIFE , BUT TRUE RELATIONS ARE ONLY A FEW. AND THESE RELATIONS NEED NOT BE EXPRESSED BY SPEAKING ALONE, THEY CAN BE FELT FROM THE HEART.....

THE GOLDEN RING

By- Dr. Jaya Kumar.
Neha, our protagonist as you know, always had a special bond of attachment with all her relations. Since childhood she had actively participated in every wedding ceremony of all her relatives.
She genuinely felt a deep sense of happiness and joy for others.
This story is of the time when young Neha was in college happy and excited since her cousin Mona was getting married.
Mona was the youngest daughter of her maternal aunt Sarsawati.
Today's story:  THE GOLDEN RING.
Preparations were on in full swing in aunt Sarsawati's house. After all, Mona was the most loved one amongst three sisters of aunt Sarsawati's family.
Mona was a few years elder to Neha.
Neha had a special liking for her as she used to admire and appreciate her beautiful dolls and dresses. But Mona used to act stylish and Neha always used to feel that Mona behaved with an inappropriate attitude on several occasions.
But this was not the time to think all that as Mona was going to get married in a few days.

'Let me forget her tantrums and be a part of Mona's happiness on her most special day ', Neha thought.
Many marriage functions and ceremonies were lined up one after another.
Mona's wedding apparels assorted by her family were beautiful. Mona's to -be husband Amit was from a good and a reputed family.
Amit's family had a flourished business.
Amit was a decent man and both Amit and Mona complimented each other beautifully.
As per the Hindu tradition, the to be brother -in- law, gifts a gold ring to his to be wife 's sister.
Neha had told Mona that she too wanted a Golden Ring from Amit. Though Neha and Mona were cousins but were following the age -old Hindu Wedding tradition more like real sisters.
Mona assured Neha that she would surely be getting a golden ring at the wedding.
Neha, is a very reliable and trustworthy person. Everyone knew that they could ask any favour from Neha and she would always be ready to help them.
In fact, Neha always felt a deep sense of self satisfaction whenever she was loaded with responsibilities.
She was confident that she always worked wholeheartedly and so there was no need to run away or avoid taking responsibilities.
She used to really love when anyone appreciated her work.
One day a small ritual was conducted at Sarsawati's house for Mona. All the ladies from Mona's to be in - laws side were invited for this traditional ritual.
Neha as usual was assigned with all the duties and responsibilities from receiving people to cooking, serving and taking good care of all invited. She conducted everything beautifully and to the best of her capability.
Even though so many responsibilities were making Neha a little tired but she still performed all duties assigned to her perfectly and with a big smile and a happy face.
Neha's loving gestures and commitment proved her attachment towards Mona.
Mona's to be -in- laws really felt respected at the function and they appreciated Neha a lot.
Days passed by and finally the day of the wedding had come.
Everyone was beautifully dressed - up.
Joy and happiness was all around.
As the wedding rituals got over, Neha was eager and excited to get her much awaited and promised golden ring.
It was not that Neha did not possess precious things, but certain things make us specially happy.
That Golden Ring was Neha's happiness and her care shown for everyone.
As events unfolded, a big disappointment awaited Neha. Mona told Neha that she would not be gifted that Golden Ring on that day of wedding but instead shall get it later on the day when Mona and Amit would host their reception.
Neha could not understand this but felt that maybe it would be more special to get it on Mona's reception day as promised again by Mona.
On the reception day, Neha along with her family members went to attend Amit and Mona's reception.
Mona and Amit were looking good together as a couple. Mona's outfit had a royal touch to it and she looked ravishing that day.
Neha was admiring the beauty of the occasion when Neha's eldest cousins who were Mona's elder sisters Manju and Aradhna flaunted their recently acquired gift from Amit, a diamond ring.
Neha felt very bad and offended too. How can Amit gift both of them a gift as sisters and not her? Neha thought.
But then maybe since they were real sisters, Neha reasoned to herself.
'A promise is a Promise', which is to be kept. Finally, Neha went on the stage to congratulate the newly- wed couple and ask Amit for her golden ring  as per the ritual, tradition and culture and more over, as promised by Mona.
For Neha it was excitement and joy to get her golden ring. On asking the same Amit told Neha that he would gift the golden ring only if Mona asks him to gift it.
Mona did not keep her promise and conveniently forgot to ask Amit to Gift Neha her promised Golden Ring.
Neha felt really offended and back - stabbed on Mona's such behaviour.
She felt that only till her help was required, by all in Mona's family kept her in good humour and were dependent on her.
Neha felt very bad for herself. She thought if Mona was not really ready to gift the Golden Ring to her so why did she promise Neha.
Wet eyes and deep inner silence gripped Neha's mind and heart.
Why did Mona behave like that with Neha? And moreover, why was she still unanswerable?
Breaking someone's hope is very insensitive.
Do not promise, if you cannot keep it.
DO NOT PLAY WITH HUMAN SENTIMENTS AND HUMAN RELATIONS.
LIFE SHOULD NOT BE ABOUT PLAYING GAMES WITH RELATIONS.
