Paryatan Parv- The Journey of Incredible India

 Blog By-Dr Jaya Kumar.

India's strength is its rich cultural and religious diversity. So many states, with different places of interest, architecture, culture, history and heritage.
In this God's own land India, we can really explore so much.
One life shall surely be too short to explore the richness and vastness of our motherland India.
Variations and varieties, colours and textures, melody and vibrancy, delicacies and authentic flavours, landscapes and beaches, monuments and wonders. You name it and we surely have it.
I realised this incredible aspect of being born in this blessed land when I visited the 'Paryatan Parv' recently organised by the Ministry of Tourism at the Rajpath lawns, New Delhi.

What a mesmerising view it was with India Gate at the background and binding of all the Indian cultures together at the Paryatan Parv.
The slogan of the Tourism Ministry spoke a thousand words.
The slogan 'Dekho Apna Desh,' is so true. I had this feeling at the entrance gate to the event itself.
The whole venue was awesome. Well decorated, colourful and depicting the beauty and majesty of India through various pictures and paintings.
The food court at the parv was a multi-state food court. Chefs from all the different states presented their culinary skills.
Hot Momos from the first organic state of India Sikkim, special Dosa from Karnataka, Biryani from Telangana, Special Dham from Himachal Pradesh, mouth watering dishes from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and many dishes from other states.
After trying several dishes I wished I could taste some more.

The tastes and flavours melted in my mouth and left an unforgettable taste.
Relishing the flavours of India, as I moved ahead I could not stop dancing on the beats of the Dhol and enjoyed the various street performances by the artists from all over India.

Various Nukkad Nataks on  social issues  made me think that these could be an eye-opener for the society.
There was a beautiful display of local handicrafts. Artisans from different states were present to enhance our knowledge about Indian handicrafts. We could even buy our own country- produced Swadeshi products.
A separate area was dedicated to the National awardee craftsmen and artisans.
They were showcasing their skills and self produced handicrafts, decoration items, clothing and garments.
I felt a beautiful feeling  as i appreciated, admired and even bought some beautifully produced state handicrafts.
Besides a main grand stage there were many other stages set up for  cultural performances by artists from across the country.
'Bihu' the dance form of Assam, 'Thangta' a sword- fighting dance from Manipur, 'Sidhi Dhamal', 'Chau', 'Bhangra' from Punjab and list goes on.

All these were performed and beautifully choreographed. The music and dance of India is foot-tapping, melodious and soulful.
India and we the citizens of this country have always been warm in welcoming the people from other countries of the world too.
For us 'Atithidevo Bhava,' meaning guest is God, is the motto.
One could feel this seeing many people of foreign origin enjoying our cultural heritage and feeling amazed to witness the cultural and architectural heritage of unforgettable India.
India is a land of values and traditions, festivals and celebrations, unity and fraternity, love and respect, sharing and caring.
India is really Incredible.
