A Journey of Optimism - Chapter2: A New life begins

Chapter2: A New life begins

Just close your eyes and see yourself wearing frock or shorts. Laughing and enjoying your childhood. Dancing at every song being played on T.V, singing songs from chitrahar and riding a bicycle. Such a beautiful childhood and then suddenly seeing yourself going to college. U specials, blue line buses, studies and off course struggles. It is true that many of us must have shared the same childhood, with different struggles and situations.

Albert Einstein correctly said “Education is what remains after one has forgotten what one has learnt in school.” So now true education started and I must confess very truly that as I was growing and seeing the world and life with different perspective, I really felt that I was getting educated day by day. It must be true for everyone. What we are today were we few years back? The answer must be no. Some might think that we have really changed with time.

For few time changes and sometimes we change because of new relations we have developed in all these years. Honestly, for everyone a new life begins with every passing time. A new life begins to cherish new relations, to fulfil new responsibilities, to grow and be mature in understanding. To be ready for a life long journey, welcoming life with open arms. May what come, we should promise to live life to the fullest. To be thankful for life and to value it every moment.

Now, let’s open our eyes and see our dear sons and daughters smiling.  For a second, thought comes that is it a dream. But from heart we know it is a very sweet realty of life. A journey which started from our birth where our parents gave us life and God bought us in this world, takes a time leap of 30 or more years and with it another life begins which we shall be sharing with our children. Joys, sorrows, fear, struggles, happiness and learning with a new beginning.

Life is a journey as it continues till your death. In this period, we face several ups and downs and many new challenges which every human being has to face in different stages. It is always in our hands to how to begin this new life. Every day is a new life when we are alive. Are we prepared to face challenge of life? Are we ready to take on life examination? Let’s be prepared for this life long journey.

A Journey of Optimism - Chapter1: My link with God

Chapter1: My link with God

God has created this beautiful world. We human beings are one of the beautiful being he has created. The precious life God has given to us makes us realise that in real sense God is the super power. We can address him with different names, believe him with different faiths. We can search him in several religious places or we can find him in the depth of our hearts. But in reality, we cannot deny his presence.

When I became a mother, first thing that came in my mind was that God is great. How from a foetus God gave so sweet features, twinkling eyes, cute body and most innocent soul and heart to a baby? All mixed feelings gripped my mind with happiness and in my heart to see my baby, responsibility in brain to do all the best things for him and excitement to become a mother. I thanked God and asked strength from him so that I become a responsible mother.

In today’s scenario when we read newspaper and see the ill things happening around us, we always feel a sense of insecurity and fear grips us. When I became a mother so many thoughts were striking me. One of the striking thoughts was that when God’s creation is so innocent, then what happens that we lose our innocence. The bond which we start with our existence starts losing grip. Why we as human beings break that link with God? When he has blessed us with that innocence then why we take it away?

As we grow it becomes the demand of the time or it is our self-creation. It is self-creation towards self-destruction or we are so guideless that we never realised it. Does humanity need some guiding force for being human? Will God come down himself or send some source?

Now, the question here is how we would come to know about that source. May be the answer is simple. It has to be the life giver. The giver, who will guide us and it, is life itself. God has kept death in his hands and has given life in hands of parents, who becomes a source to bring a new life in this world. This is a lifelong continuous process till the existence of human being in this world. Thus, becoming parents is the biggest responsibility. They have to shape a good future citizen and become a real guiding force in true sense.

When a woman becomes a mother, it is considered to be her second life. Yes, it is true, A Second Life to become that guiding force to serve humanity and blessed to be the first teacher and guide for her child. With the birth of child, a lifelong journey starts with self-motivation to become a real guiding force.

The preparations to lead this journey should begin from beginning and should last till the end. Sometimes if we keep our self in some situation, we shall surely think that yes it should have not been like this or how it can be me? But we never realise that life can take a u turn. So, let’s start preparing for life examination.

India and Traffic Management.

                                   Developing Countries and Traffic Management.

Government of India is celebrating month for traffic awareness under Traffic Campaign Jeevan Raksha, Sadak Suraksha. I, personally feel that this initiative will help in generation of traffic responsibilities in every citizen of this country whether he or she is a pedestrian, cyclist, pillion Riders, passengers or drivers. When we are referring about developing countries, I would like to refer to our own motherland India. India having such a large population using different modes of transport as well as pedestrians. Many are not even literate enough to read traffic signs which are there. In this context comparison to developed world traffic management is a very big issue in the developing world as well as a big challenge which several governments in the developing world are facing.

As a saying state that every problem has a solution to it. But how well it will be drafted, executed and implemented is the biggest challenge in the field of traffic management.

The report States that world over 12 lakh people are killed and over 1 crore people are injured because of the traffic accidents. Thus, it is a very alarming and serious issue. It is not a problem for only traffic department but honestly, if someone loses his or her dear and near ones, every one’s life can also be shattered. Even in India, the report states that over 1.5 Lakh people are killed and if we refer to the capital of India over 1,500 people are killed being involved in any of the traffic accidents.

The problem here is that are we blaming on the infrastructure provided to us? In my view point we should not. In the developing countries we have to blame people, the drivers and the pedestrians who are not even aware that obeying traffic rules is their moral responsibility which they have to abide by. Few people in developing countries have a wrong perception that paying the challan/fine is not a big issue for them since they have money and can pay challan/fine very easily and few feels that because the population is so large the traffic department police personals are very few, so maybe I cannot be caught red handed.

The situation here arises do we have to abide the traffic rules because we fear challans or the punishment which we will be getting. In the developing world since the heavy transport is also on the road along with the light weight transport so, how to manage it is the biggest question.

We can state that there is less infrastructure provided in the developing countries if we are referring to our own Nation that is India. Personally I, think that infrastructure which we have and the initiative by the central government can lead to positive and fruitful results when everyone of us as a citizen start thinking on this line that I have to be a positive contributor towards management of traffic. There should have not been a need of a traffic police if people were their own traffic police i.e., checking themselves on their own rather than waiting for some government’s strict guidelines. This can be regarded as self-traffic management. In this dimension we can have moral traffic management. Traffic department can have citizens volunteer trained under guidance of traffic department who can counsel public and can make them aware of the traffic discipline as a part of traffic management. It has to be in a direction where this responsibility should be inculcated from the very childhood through various school and college campaigns, awareness programs and educating young mind and drafting a curriculum by education department based on traffic management which must be a compulsory subject. This can be education traffic management.

Many case studies can be studied where the parent or the guardian himself or herself was responsible to inculcate the habit of breaking all the traffic rules in their own child. It is alarming but it is sympathetic also because maybe for a few years the child is not suffering because of this indiscipline, referring to examples like not wearing helmet, driving two-wheeler without licence and still under age, involvement in rash driving or over speeding. For this purpose, for few period of time some important document of parents should be taken in the custody and should be returned back after many efforts done by parents. This will be psychological traffic management.

Now, let us go back to the time where the traffic department in Delhi was headed by Dr. Kiran Bedi as one of the heads. She was given the name of even Crane Bedi, where she started managing the traffic situation really well. Even if a VIP car was parked in the wrong parking zone, she, used to tow the vehicle because she felt and even quoted that if the traffic is not abided by everyone and is not running smoothly without proper traffic management than maybe everything will be delayed. Many of us have also experienced ourselves that economy will also suffer this way. This can be stated as economic dimensional approach to traffic management while levying heavy tax on the traffic violators.

In India many people have a very laid-back attitude that they can leave the house late but have to reach their destination on time. This last-minute Rush where over speeding and rash driving becomes a common habit and also a very big reason for accidents. Sometimes because of no professional training, the drivers do not have even control on their vehicles in this regard few short-term degree and diploma courses should be introduced which will be framed keeping in mind educational traffic management and should become compulsory to attain a driver’s license specially for commercial drivers.

In 2016 the Supreme Court issued an order to ban sale of alcohol within 500 meters of state and national highways keeping in view that the heavy transport drivers and even the people who are going on holidays or joy rides because of easy accessibility of alcohol and under its influence lose control over vehicle which leads to heavy casualty and even damage to public property. Even when someone is moving on highways specially, they are driving heavy vehicles lack of sleep also becomes a reason for accidents. So, few laws should be passed under judicial traffic management laws in which regular checking of traffic lights, regular painting of essential traffic lines like zebra crossing, stop line and many more. Regular cutting of the road side plants should be undertaken on the regular bases.

So, central as well as state governments, permanent executive, judiciary and citizens should work hand in hand towards bringing a revolutionary change for traffic management. If, we work on the art of traffic management we will manage our lives well and contribute towards the path of growth, development and nation building.

Power Sharing - The spirit of democracy.

Blog by Dr.Jaya kumar
Power sharing means the distribution of power among the organs of the government such as the legislature, executive, and judiciary. Power sharing helps in achieving the stability of political order. In power-sharing, power might even be shared at distinct levels such as union, state and local.

In a modern democracy, power-sharing arrangements can take many forms. Horizontal distribution of power: In this, the power is shared among different organs of government such as the legislature, executive, and judiciary.

This type of power sharing is prevalent in India. Federal government (vertical distribution of power): In this, the power can be shared among governments at different levels.

This type of power sharing is prevalent in the USA. Power sharing among different social groups: Power can be shared among social groups such as linguistic and religious groups.

Other types of power-sharing: Power sharing is also seen in political parties, pressure groups and movements control or influence those in power.

Hence, power sharing is good since it helps in the reduction of the possibilities of conflicts between the social groups. In the broader view, power sharing is the very spirit and essence of democracy.

The Cold War Era 1945- 1991

Blog by- Dr. Jaya Kumar.
The Cold War was a period of geopolitical tension between the Soviet Union and the United States and their respective allies, the Eastern Bloc and the Western Bloc, after World War II.

The term "cold" is used because there was no large-scale fighting directly between the two superpowers, but they each supported major regional conflicts known as proxy wars.

The conflict was based around the ideological and geopolitical struggle for global influence by the two powers. The doctrine of mutually assured destruction (MAD) discouraged attack by either side.

The West was led by the United States as well as the other First World nations of the Western Bloc that were generally liberal democratic but tied to a network of authoritarian states, most of which were their former colonies. The East was led by the Soviet Union and its Communist Party, which had influence across the Second World.

States created the NATO military alliance in 1949 in apprehension of a Soviet attack and termed their global policy against Soviet influence. The Soviet Union formed the Warsaw Pact in 1955 in response to NATO. Major crises of this phase included the 1948–49 Berlin Blockade, the 1927–50 Chinese Civil War, the 1950–53 Korean War, the 1956 Suez Crisis, the Berlin Crisis of 1961 and the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis.

Happy Holi - The Festival of Colours.

Blog by-Dr Jaya Kumar.

One of the expansions of the word HOLI can be: Hope and Opportunity for Life to an Individual.

If we look carefully and believe it, we would see that everyday brings a new hope for every human being.

The world may not stand for us but if we stand for ourself then every problem will turn into an opportunity.

If we respect our own self, we would surely be respected by all.

As the colours of holi spread in the air, we could also fill our lives with colours but only if we allow it to happen.

If we ourselves are happy within ourselves, every one around us will also be happy. On the other hand if we are sad, it will be only our inner-self which would feel the pain.

Similar to the love between Radha and Krishna, we should love our inner consciousness too. It is only me and my inner consciousness which can motivate ME.

Try to sometimes live for yourself too, beyond living for others all the time.

The self-boosting you get shall be unparalleled.

HAVE A COLOURFUL LIFE.....

Happy Women's Day- In honour of women power.

Blog by-Dr Jaya Kumar.

Woman is a name for Strength. Woman is love. She is an epitome of beauty. She is loving care and affection.

She is a woman of thoughts and actions who binds everything together.

A woman acts as a financial adviser as well as a home-maker. She confidently steps in the outside world and makes her mark and makes her presence felt.

At the home front she is the home minister. She nurtures the future generations.

It is with her efforts that a House becomes a Home. She is the 'heart' of her home.

She acts like a guiding force for all the members.

She herself may be sad at times but would keep everyone around her happy. She herself could be in pain but would be ready to give pleasure to her loved ones.

In all circumstances, she would be ready to fullfill all her responsibilities since she sincerely feels happy doing them.

A Woman makes, nurtures, imparts and inculcates various values to everyone around her especially the children.

So let us on the occasion of Women's Day, thank all the women in our lives who have made the difference in our lives.

SALUTE TO THE WOMAN POWER.

Life is too short...

Blog by Dr.jayakumar.

Life is too short... When a smiling face feels the pain and eternal suffering. The life seems too short. When the soul hurts and the heart breaks, life seems too short. When the true words becomes small and the hard work is not shown, life becomes too short.. When the warmth we miss and the care we ignore, life seems too short. Life has a beauty which has to be felt, not to be lead. Life is to spread happiness since there is already so much of pain, anguish and suffering in the world.

Life is to follow discipline since indisciplined societies have already ruined humanity. Life is to spread smiles since world is full of beastly people who turn it into pain. Life is a hope..Life is positivity wraped in all beauty. Beauty of heart ,the beauty of soul, the beauty of thoughts and emotions with lots of prayers. Bringing with it blessings and care. Thinking about someone's future and only wishing for better endeavours. But , the dreams are shattered and the reality becomes harder and harsh. The life seems too short. You think you have failed and the world seems too small.

The tears start coming without any reason. The heart starts sinking and the soul broke.. Still the Blessings shall surely count and the world will be better. A better world with smiling faces and happy hearts. The positivity shall spread its wings and the young will fly with it.
High in the sky reaching success. Since Life is too short to even cry.. Life is a hope that even if it is short it made a difference.. Life is a smile even for a second it brought a glow.. Life is a discipline which will take us far.. Life is to greet with a smiling face and happy heart.. Even if life is too short it will remembered for long..it will remembered for long..

World is waiting for you

Blog written by- Dr.Jaya Kumar.

As a human being we are living a collective life but if we think a little deeply, we all are individual entities in this universe.
The way we think and look at things are different from each other's perspective.
This is because only we know what is going in our thought processes.
Our analysis and conclusions are only ours.
As an individual our cosmic connect with the universe is different from anyone else therefore in this context, as a social obligation, we should not pressurise anyone or intrude in his or her personal sphere.
Relationships and attachments are man- made.

Else irrespective of the age and relation, we are born as individual identities.
Social pressures tend to become social obligations to the individuality of a particular person.
We at personal level are answerable to only those whom we feel to give answers and who are allowed to enter our personal sphere.
Personally our decisions should be respected without questioning the reason (s) behind.
Pressure tends to become a burden and a binding of certain things, which curtails an individuals freedom.
So, let the world be like an open sky and let every individual take their own flights in the sky as per their own capabilities and desires with a beautiful aspect of freedom.

Happy Navratri - A Beginning of New Hope

Blog by-Dr Jaya Kumar.

NAVRATRI..The auspicious festival is celebrated to worship the nine powerful forms of Goddess Durga.

The nine avatars of Durga are:

1. SHAILPUTRI- The embodiment of the collective power of Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh. This collective power can really conquer the world.

2. BRAHMCHARINI- She is filled with bliss and happiness. Let us be happy from our inner soul to achieve a blissful life.

3. CHANDRAGHANTA- She represents beauty and grace. She is also regarded as an apostle of bravery and possesses great strength.

Like wise, we too have to be physically and mentally strong to face the challenges of this world with our head held high.

4. KUSHMUNDA- She is considered to be the creator of the universe.

Mother is the creator of the  future generation. Let us fullfil our responsibilities with dedication and true commitment.

5. SKAND MATA- She can turn into a storm-cloud when the need arises to protect her child.

Parents are protectors of their children. It is our duty as parents to make our children well aware of the hurdles of life.

6. KATYAYANI- She exhibits immense courage.

Be courageous to fight the battle with the demon inside us.

7. KALRATRI- She has three eyes that shine bright.

As human beings we have only two eyes.Try to open our 'third' eye of awakening which can see the world from a different perspective.

8. MAHAGAURI- She is intelligent, peaceful and calm.

Only a peaceful mind can be a productive mind.

9. SIDDHIDATRI- She possesses supernatural healing powers.

Everyone has hidden supernatural powers, so let us explore ourselves.

Looking at its deeper meaning, we realize that there is another aspect to Navratri.

The meaning of NAV-RATRI can also be understood as NEW-NIGHT.

A new night which fills us with new energy. Just like all the forms of the Goddess who are worshipped and who killed the evil forces to protect the good, we too should pledge to adopt and inculcate good values and ethos in ourselves. Values to stand against the evil and also kill our inner evil forces.

If there is something we could not do in the past, let us try to do it now in the present.

Let us take a vow to change our lethargic lifestyles and shift to a healthy systems of living.

Let us burry our bad habits and start following the good principles in life.

Change should be a part of life. Following the new directions and dictums should be a promise we should surely and unhesitatingly make to ourselves.

LET US RESOLVE TO ASSURE THAT, THIS NAVRATRI OUR LIVES SHALL ALSO TAKE A TURN TO NEW AND BETTER WAYS OF LIVING..
